We are currently seeking a Senior Brand Manager to join our team and support our Simply Organic and Frontier Co-op brands within the seasoning category. Now more than 40,000 member-owners strong, we're dedicated to sourcing and packaging the highest quality spices, herbs and botanical products through our Frontier Co-op, Simply Organic - and Aura Cacia - brands. Ideal candidates would be located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Boulder, Colorado.
SUMMARY Leads category from a business and marketing perspective to achieve short term and long term category contribution and sales growth in designated markets. Responsible for P&L, market share, sales, new product development and overall strategy of the business.

  • Oversee Brand and Marketing, including brand and channel strategy, annual and seasonal planning, consumer insights, sponsorships, retail marketing, PR/communications, influencers, strategic partnerships, brand content, and social media.
  • Oversee brand and product marketing campaigns, including messaging strategy, creative development, execution and measurement.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to commercialize and scale product & package solutions ready for launch.
  • Strategically analyze the brand's strengths and opportunities vs. category trends/key competitors and identifies growth areas for our brands.
  • Responsible for competitive analysis, industry trends, research, budget tracking and maintaining necessary marketing reports.
  • Manage and track marketing budget and allocate based on business strategy and goals.
  • Establishes category goals and revenue plans, and ensures sales, gross margin, and category contribution targets are achieved.
  • Provides sales forecasts and works closely with sales departments and distribution channels to ensure growing sales and market share.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships, particularly with product development, package development, operations, brand marketing, procurement, finance, and sales.
  • Manages marketing mix (product, price, place, and promotion) to ensure sales and profit growth.
  • Recommends pricing strategy and price changes for category.
  • Performs qualitative and quantitative market research on packaging, concepts, products, positioning, pricing and promotion. Conduct syndicated research analysis and coordinate custom consumer research.
  • Team Development - grow and develop the team across various functions and roles.
  • Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
  • Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
  • Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
  • This position may have one direct report.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in marketing, communications, sales, advertising, business administration, or related field; and 4 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred; 2 to 3 years innovation experience preferred.
