Job Description US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED#LI-JL2Perform and/or
lead software and firmware assurance activities for all phases from
engineering requirements, design, development, test and
integration, and maintenance at the individual component level,
sub-system level and system level for programs and or products from
less complicated, single focus activities to extremely complex and
highly diverse activities. Requires familiarity with national
defense and commercial industry policies and standards and multiple
life-cycle development processes such as Agile and Waterfall.The
Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical
assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and
missions. We provide a comprehensive approach to managing risk
across the enterprise for current and future information
environments where the business and missions execute. We apply the

business success.What You'll Do:
- Participate and/or lead the peer review process for
requirements, design, code, and documentation; test oversight
including approving readiness and witnessing/monitoring testing;
configuration control oversight for both code and documentation;
change control oversight; problem reporting & anomaly resolution
and perform periodic assessments of the BAE SMS (Space & Mission
Systems) software and firmware development and maintenance
activities.
- Ability to identify gaps with leadership to determine potential
software quality & Ground Systems & Services (GS&S)
vulnerabilities and weaknesses of software throughout the
development, maintenance, and sustainment lifecycle phases.
Relatedly, provide guidance, expertise and solutions on how and
when to resolve these vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
- Audit, monitor, evaluate, lead and report on software/firmware
subcontractor activities.
- Ensure applicable and/or required processes are followed during
software releases, including validation of release artifacts,
version control, and configuration management.
- Educate program's software development team(s) and GS&S on
available support resources, such as software process
documentation, products and tools, and enable usage of these.
- Identify, execute and assure the success of a program's
software team by interfacing with software and firmware
engineering, configuration management, process organizations,
program management, and functional management.
- Work with, and at time mentor, SQA (Software Quality Assurance)
and Subject Matter Expert (SME) peers to advise and consult to
ensure proper flow down of BAE SMS and contractual SQA
requirements.
- Work with, and at time mentor, Subject Matter Expert (SME)
staff and SQA to conceive and develop solutions to engineering
management and technical problems.
- Provide contributions to the development teams during all
phases of the product lifecycle assessing the planning for and
implementation of tailoring the process for compliance with good
engineering practices along with adherence to BAE SMS requirements
and the program statement of work and other contractual
requirements to ensure on-time deliveries within budget
constraints.
- Review documentation to ensure program requirements compliance,
adherence to BAE SMS and Industry standards, consistency, risk
mitigation, and completeness; tracking related action items and
change requests.
- Document software assurance plans on a program and capture
activities performed in SW Quality Engineering Reports.
- Contribute to presenting Software and Firmware product
life-cycle status and adherence to process to program management
and customers.
- Provide support in addressing customer expectations, report
status, risks, and risk mitigation.
- Support multiple BAE SMS campuses for various programs and
Product Center(s) support.
- Experience with the AS9100, SEI CMMI, ISO, Aerospace and NASA
practices, IV&V, metrics; software safety, software
reliability, and software security.
- Successful participation in internal and external process
assessments such as BSI, AS9100, etc.
- Experience with Subversion, JIRA/Atlassian, GitLab tool.
- Travel to subcontractor and customer sites.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic
Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with
others in order to maintain a positive and productive work
environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work
location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and
other possible non-company locations may be required.Working
Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor,
or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of
protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather
conditions.Required Education, Experience, & Skills Required
Education, Experience, & Skills :
BS degree or higher in Engineering or
a related technical field is required.Each higher-level degree,
i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of
experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu
of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school
which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of
Education, US Department of Education.Active TS/SCI clearance is
requiredFamiliar with industry and government specifications &
standards and the requirements contained therein that guide the
design, build, & test of software.Familiar with Software Quality
Engineering (SQE) principles, tools, methods, and standards.Solid
organizational, communication and written skills with the ability
to focus on details and multi-task.Understanding and experience
with both Waterfall and Agile life cycle processesWillingness to
take initiative, ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, good
interpersonal and project management skills, the ability to
multi-task, plan, and represent SQA in cross-functional meetings
and to subcontractors and customers.Preferred Education,

- Leadership experience & an ability to work with leadership and
management within the Programs, SBUs, and SCUs.
- Experience with supporting software verification and
validation.
- Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and
quality metrics to assess software performance, identify trends,
and ensure continuous improvement.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary
Range: $115779 - $196825Please note: This range is based on our
market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined
by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
