future.As a Space Vehicle (SV) Architect, you will provide direct
support to an assigned mission area portfolio. You will be the
first level of engagement supporting direct customer interactions,
identifying Spacecraft Bus and SV solutions, supporting pursuits,
and providing feedback from the mission area back to the department
capability road map. You will also support executing programs
within the product line to maintain design alignment with the
Spacecraft product line.While executing programs you will support
the Space Vehicle Engineering team through development, test, and
delivery of highly capable space systems. You will work closely
with the Space Vehicle Lead and Chief Engineer who is responsible
to ensure the company delivers a system that meets our customers'
technical performance specifications and mission needs.This is a

Do:
- As the Space Vehicle Architect assigned to a mission area, you
are the primary technical representative to the mission area (i.e.,
Civil Space, National Space, or Military Space) including external
customers and partners providing solutions for Spacecraft Bus and
Space Vehicles.
- Support customer engagement on current and past programs via
the programmatic route, understanding customer requirements as well
as institutional imperatives, expectations for improvements/lessons
learned.
- Develop a positive and collaborative relationship with the
portfolio Advanced Systems Managers and other internal team members
- meeting their needs in a timely manner.
- Become an integral part of the of the capture team providing
strategy and specific opportunities.
- Participate in architecture development to ensure BAE Systems
capabilities are being maintained in support of mission needs as
well as changes in technology/supplier base.
- Lead provision of technical details of current and past
programs to build standard resources that the New Business team can
use to discuss Spacecraft Bus capabilities.
- Author RFI/RFP sections and participate as a member of RFI/RFP
red team or review teams for other mission areas.
- Assist and be part of the New Business team to deliver
presentations, RFIs responses and proposals by providing
descriptions of capabilities, assessments of risks (cost, schedule,
technical) and recommendations for proposed solutions at the SV
level with focus on heritage and future capability plans to
influence requirements or mission concepts in advance of the RFx
steps.
- Ensure pursuits are aligning with the Spacecraft Bus product
line and focus on high reuse.
- Collaborate in a dynamic environment with multiple groups,
interfaces, and all Spacecraft subsystem teams.
- Participate in IRADs and other department initiatives, as
required.
- Mentor and coach Spacecraft Bus Lead Engineers executing
programs within the assigned portfolio.
- Provide feedback to execution programs within the portfolio for
design milestones, anomaly resolution, and gate reviews.
- Can act as a lead for internal review teams for Spacecraft/SV
program gate reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR/PSR), as requested.
- Support programs/studies (in some cases, taking a lead
role).
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic
Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with
others in order to maintain a positive and productive work
environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the
primary work location. Travel and local commute between company
campuses and other possible non-company locations may be
required.Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor,
or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of
protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather
conditions.#IJSRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field
is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
of Education.
- Excellent communication skills are required, as well as a
willingness to collaborate cross functionally.
- Must be a self-starter and able to operate in an environment of
ambiguity when necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in proposals, systems engineering
processes, including requirements development, requirement
allocation, change management, verification, and validation - a
self-starter that will own this activity.
- Experience over the full program life cycle, from conception to
delivery/operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
including meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals.
- Customer Relationships: Knowledge of missions and customers
across core technologies areas.
- Must possess excellent presentation skills with experience
presenting to senior decision makers and technical audiences.A
security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be
eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing
and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements,
after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the
applicable clearance/access.Preferred Education, Experience, &
Skills
- A current, active TS/SCI clearance.
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) - CAM
experience.

$194500Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
