Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will be under moderate supervision and at a fully competency level, and design, build and install tools and equipment for calibrating flow and density technologies. This includes creating or revising designs, building prototypes, full system construction, startup and commissioning.AS A CALIBRATION ENGINEER II, YOU WILL:* Lead the mechanical engineering, construction and commissioning of mass flow and density calibration systems, with focus on flow analysis, piping and mechanical machine design.* Work cross functionally with calibration design team which includes mechanical, electrical, software engineers, and designers.* Participate in process and instrumentation system definition.* Perform system flow analysis using modeling software.* Perform pump, valve and key component sizing calculations and selections.* Create 3D models and construction drawings of piping systems and mechanical components.* Help maintain and support existing calibration systems throughout life cycle both stateside and abroad.* Lead or contribute to the implementation of new calibration systems world-wide.WHO YOU ARE:You balance planning with actions. You focus on creating an effective collaborative style.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics required* Two years of mechanical design experience* Experience designing or maintaining fluid systems* Experience with system flow analysis, pump and control valve sizing* Experience with CAD, creating construction models, drawings and bill of materials* Must have strong technical skills in an engineering field, and a demonstrated track record of successfully assisting with and completing engineering projects* Excellent team work and communication skills* Ability to balance & prioritize multiple tasks & projects* Willingness to travel up to 8 weeks throughout the year* Ability to work in the field assembling, setting up and commissioning large flow lab equipment* Legal authorization to work in the United StatesPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:* PE license, or EIT with ambition for PE is preferred* Experience with Solidworks is preferredWHY EMERSON?Our Commitment to Our PeopleWe invest in our employees to ensure they have the marketplace knowledge, skills and competencies to compete and lead in a global economy.
