As part of Apple's design and development team you will be working with some of the smartest and most dedicated people in the field and will be chipping in to exciting new products that will touch lives of millions.Key Qualifications3+ years of experience leading mechanical design and integration efforts for high-volume, reliable productsExpertise in mechanical characterization such as: 4-point bend, stud pull, lap-shearProven understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals: properties of materials, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, and thermodynamicsFamiliarity with multiple manufacturing techniques such as injection-molding, metal stamping, die-cutting, etc. and materials such as plastics, metals, glass, etc.Excellent prioritization, multi-functional collaboration, and written and verbal communication. Able to articulate the thought process clearly and conciselyUse of the scientific method: hypothesis development, experiment design, and drawing conclusions based on data3D software expertise: Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, or NXWillingness and ability to travel (up to 15% of time)Description- Architect solutions for new optical modules and drive specifications with multi-functional teams based on fit, quality, performance, and process constraints - Build and refine technologies to improve the design, construction, and reliability of optical modules - Develop 3D and 2D documentation for optical module assemblies, components, and test fixtures - Assess the reliability of optical modules, including creation of the test strategy, fixture designs, test execution, and analysis of results - Perform failure analysis and build detailed reports to drive proven corrective actions - Communicate data and changes to senior management - Audit factories to review assembly process, integration, and handling at all stages to maintain quality and achieve high yield - Work with early stage prototypes as well as taking designs through product cycles and productionEducation & ExperienceMS or BS in Mechanical EngineeringAdditional RequirementsIf you are a Colorado resident, this is for you:At Apple, we see the whole you. Module Integration Engineer starts at a minimum annual salary of $91,800. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
