Successful applicants will bring deep experience with data center design, configuration, & maintenance, familiarity with hardware procurement, a readiness to work hands-on keyboard to solve challenging data center problems, a strong collaborative spirit, experience successfully mentoring junior team members, superior problem solving skills, a passion for security and data protection, and a clear focus on supporting customer needs.ResponsibilitiesRecommend and follow technical standards for data center configuration.Document technical configurations for both datacenters and for cloud architecture.Install and configure servers and necessary applications to support data center and Infrastructure strategy.Configure, monitor, and periodically test backup/recovery of systems.Proactively monitor data center status/health and address issues as appropriate.Perform system upgrades and patches as necessary to include firmware, operating system, and applications.Engage with vendors for license renewals, hardware/software, and support contracts.Support system administrator personnel as necessary to resolve end user and systems issues.Ensure security standards and practices are implemented and maintained within the infrastructure environment.Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks.Develops and maintains all security and network configurations.Troubleshoots all data center and network performance issues.Maintains and exercises a disaster recovery plan annually.This individual is responsible for architecting and administering the following environments:Windows server environmentNimble Storage environmentVMware / vSphere environmentData networking (routing and switching including Cisco Nessus NX-OS)Meraki wireless and switchingVeeam backup and replication configuration and testingPalo Alto SDWAN and NGFW environmentsOther duties as assignedRequirements7+ years professional experience performing duties of a datacenter engineerCompTIA Security + (Plus) CertificationExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows server environments including four years of experience managing Active DirectoryIn-depth working knowledge and experience with VMware / vCenter / vSphereGeneral working knowledge and previous experience supporting Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) servicesExpert understanding of LAN/WAN principles and protocols, including BGP routingIn-depth experience designing, deploying, and managing firewallsA Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related fieldAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceDemonstrated attention to detailGood verbal and written communication skillsCandidates meeting the following criteria will be preferred:Experience managing Palo Alto and Panorama firewallsDirect experience configuring and supporting HP Nimble Storage and Store OnceIn-depth knowledge and experience with VEEAM backup solutionsExperience with VMWare compute, storage, and network configurationsAn active DoD security clearance Resumes, Cover Letters, and Applications which are generated by AI will not be considered for employmentBenefitsSciTec offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package, including:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)3% Fully Vested Company 401K Contribution (no employee contribution required)100% company paid HSA Medical insurance, with a choice of 2 buy-up options80% company paid Dental insurance100% company paid Vision insurance100% company paid Life insurance100% company paid Long-term Disability insuranceShort-term Disability insuranceAnnual Profit-Sharing PlanDiscretionary Performance BonusPaid Parental LeaveGenerous Paid Time Off, including Holiday, Vacation, and Sick PayFlexible Work HoursThe pay range for this position is $125,000- $166,000 / year.
