world. -The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads
the mechanical hardware design, development and production of
radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The ME Team
uses state-of the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon's
CORE principles. ME's capabilities encompass a broad range of
technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing,
technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and
documentation.The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads
mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most
innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This
includes phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals,
and power and cooling systems. The department comprises individuals
with technical expertise and experience in hardware design,
integration, and production support.We have an opportunity for an
experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our radar
development programs. - This person will be responsible to lead
mechanical teams in all phases of our design cycles, from concept
development through design, development, build and test. Key
requirements for this position include proven problem solving
skills and experience in hardware design and integration,
engineering analysis, and mechanical drawing creation with military
hardware. - - Individuals will interface and collaborate primarily
with other engineering disciplines, as well as operations, systems,
quality and program offices.This Senior Engineer role will be based
- in Marlborough, MA - and is an on-site role.Responsibilities to
Anticipate:Utilizing strong mechanical hardware design experience
and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling,
and array integrationDeveloping technical solutions to a wide range
of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle
including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of
phase array radars/electronics for multiple military
programsSupervising the definitions of mechanical outline and
construction details, component selection and specification,
mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and
delivering the final technical data packageEmploying
transition-to-production practices with the ability to lead a
design release into productionWork with limited supervision and
meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical
goals with ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily
workPreparing proposal inputs on behalf of the product
areaProviding technical conscience, challenged with making sure the
product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements
while helping to remove roadblocksPerform complex tolerance
analyses to ensure form, fit, and function are as intended by
design for the use-application.Interacting frequently with senior
personnel, occasionally including external customers, on
significant technical matters often requiring coordination between
organizationsA PhD can account for 5 years of experience as
required for this position.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's in
Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)A minimum of
eight (5) years of experience in mechanical design of radar
architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace or
commercial applicationsProficiency with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T
experience in practice.The ability to obtain and maintain a US
security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is
required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security
clearanceQualifications We Value:Experience with ANSI drawing
standards and technical data package creationFirst order structural
analysis techniques.Experience with design to military and
commercial standardsExperience in leading small development efforts
and teams.Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling
softwareCognizant of machine suppliers' capabilities or have direct
experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role for
producibilityFamiliarity with the design and manufacturing
processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings,
structures, and electronics assemblies, metal fabrications and
joining techniquesExperience in selection of materials for
structural, thermal, mechanical, electrical, producibility, and
environmental considerations including corrosion mitigation and
prevention.Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint)Very strong verbal and written communications and
interpersonal skills when working with team members and
customersAdvanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace
