CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES - POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Marketing Director for PillCam Genius Colon is responsible for developing and leading the go-to-market strategy for a top 20 innovation across all of Medtronic. They will work closely with cross-functional colleagues to address market development barriers; building the market for the product from the ground up and bringing the product to market on schedule. This role will develop the US commercialization strategy including accessing consumers/patients directly as well as developing partnerships to access Primary Care Physicians. Additionally, they -will work with regional marketing teams to prioritize OUS markets and develop region-specific commercialization strategies. The position will be located in Sunnyvale, CA or Boulder, CO A DAY IN THE LIFE: POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership

  • Hire and develop the marketing team for PillCam Genius Colon
  • Influence cross-functional partners to deliver the product to market on spec and on schedule and to address market development barriers for the product
  • Provide vision and leadership for the marketing, cross-functional and cross-regional teams
  • Present commercialization plans to senior leadership, including the executive committee of Medtronic Market Development
    • Build the market for PillCam Genius Colon from the ground up including
      • Working with cross functional teams to address market barriers for PillCam Genius Colon including clinical study design, reimbursement strategy and regulatory strategy
      • Working with regional leaders to prioritize OUS markets for PillCam Genius Colon
      • Leading market model development and updates and revenue projections
      • Guiding market research projects to obtain insights from both consumers and HCPs to inform go-to-market strategy
      • Ownership of CRC screening competitive market intelligence; provide recommended actions as needed and develop competitive messaging
      • Understanding competitive offerings (direct and indirect), IP position and filings, and commercialization tactics globally to predict future innovations and trends.
      • Leading development of product positioning and value proposition
      • Develop comprehensive go-to-market strategy including accessing consumers/patients directly and developing the channel to access primary care physcians
      • Incorporate needs/feedback from gastroenterologists and primary care physicians into commercialization plans
      • Manage the relationship with applicable 3 rd party strategic commercialization partners
      • Manage relationships with CRC screening advocacy organizations and key opinion leader physicians
      • Maintain a regular communication pathway with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and measure progress.
      • Establish strong relationships with influential healthcare professionals including those in clinical and health economics. Cross Functional Collaboration
        • Build influential partnerships across regional marketing, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Medical Affairs, HEPR and other groups to ensure the global operating plan is achieved. -

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE: The Marketing Director, PillCam Genius Colon reports to the Senior Director of Global Marketing and will play a key leadership role on the global marketing team. The Marketing Director, PillCam Genius Colon will work across the regional business units, functional leadership (marketing, R&D, sales, finance, health economics and reimbursement and clinical) and be the owner of the relationship with any applicable 3 rd party strategic partners. MUST HAVE - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME
          • Bachelor's degree required
          • 10+ years of marketing experience in the healthcare space is required; must have experience leading direct-to-consumer/patient marketing campaigns, launching new products, and developing launches.
          • 5+ years of people management NICE TO HAVE - DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
            • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing preferred
            • Colorectal cancer screening experience preferred; experience marketing to primary care physicians preferred.
            • Experience leading high functioning teams and influencing in a matrix organization
            • Strong and on-time execution focus with stakeholders including senior leadership in a dynamic environment with an ability to be agile
            • Must have well developed presentation skills; will be expected to deliver presentations to the executive leadership of Medtronic.
            • Strong quantitative, analytical, written and presentation skills.
            • Proven track record of leadership, and strategy planning and execution.
            • Ability to balance development of strategy plus experience in bringing that strategy to life through execution.
            • Must be able to manage a large group of stakeholders and provide visionary leadership of a marketing team. -
