Job Description:
We are looking for a Production Planning Manager for our Optics
Manufacturing Company in Boulder. The primary responsibility of
this position is to develop and execute production planning
strategies to meet customer demand. Successful execution requires
seamless coordination of efforts throughout the planning team and
leadership of planning personnel to drive change and improvement in
customer experience and metrics. This position is responsible for
prompt communication of changes in delivery schedule to the
Executive Leadership Team, Product Development Team, and Customer
Service team and advocating customer needs within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly BCM meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure
requirements to Cash Call commitments are met.
- Collaborate with Product Management, internal business units,
and assigned planning personnel to develop and implement strategies
that align with customer requirements through SIOP
- Manage production readiness and assurance of supply in support
of Prototype/NPI schedule.
- Provide leadership to the planning team by creating a
succession and retention plan that includes mentoring and training
through development plans and performance reviews.
- Participate in monthly cadence initiatives that include: WIP
and Scrap Reduction, Meeting Inventory AOP targets, and improving
clocking performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI) in support of
continual improvement in the performance of customer on-time
delivery (OTD), capacity utilization, throughput time, and finished
goods inventory objectives.
- Work closely with Product Line and Production Managers and
planning personnel to establish production schedules based on
capacity availability (G2/MRP meetings).
- Support cost reduction initiatives through effective and
efficient capacity utilization.
- Proactively identify constraints or potential issues by
developing tactical and strategic solutions and identifying risk
mitigation strategies.
- Establish & communicate sales order delivery schedules based on
the manufacturing production schedule.
- Communicate productivity and velocity performance against
planning goals in daily Tier 1, 2, and 3 production meetings
- Lead through others to ensure data integrity for planning
attributes/parameters, routings, yields, excess and obsolete
inventory is minimized, change order process is quick, accurate and
efficient, etc.
- Plot, trend and analyze data to ensure actions/strategies meet
objectives and improve organizational performance and customer
experience.
- Follow and support the company's Environment, Health, and
Safety culture by being aware of and reporting any concerns as well
as carrying out work in a safe manner. Qualifications:
- A./B.S. or equivalent. Supply Chain, Operations, or Materials
emphasis preferred.
- 7 + years of related experience in production/capacity planning
in a high-mix, low volume environment
- 5 + years in a leadership role within a manufacturing
environment
- 7+ years of people management experience
- Experience with M2M / SAP ERP software a plus
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and Power BI applications
required
- APICS certification required
- Detail-oriented, action-focused, and demonstrated ability to
lead through others
- Experience in capacity planning and constraint-based
planning
- Experience with Demand Flow planning desiredBenefits: Medical,

$95,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experienceEffective
