This role could be a great opportunity for you if you are a senior-level, individual contributor with a deep knowledge of financial modeling pertaining to corporate financial performance. You will be developing innovative climate risk analytics that are seamlessly integrated with standard financial valuation methods. The successful candidate will utilize Jupiter's groundbreaking climate data, coupled with customer and third-party data, to develop models that predict the financial impact of climate change on corporations. You will also own applied analytics initiatives that leverage data mining techniques and statistical analysis to build high-quality insights with our programs and products. Finally, you will work with our technology team to translate your prototype models into scalable, cloud-based models running within our production platform.What You Will Do:

  • Develop models and data processes in Python and/or R and relational databases
  • Design and prototype models that address corporate financial performance, including, but not limited to probability of default, distance to default, expected credit loss, Value at Risk, operating income and expense, and credit impact
  • Be a data wrangler: Locate, curate, and maintain internal and third-party datasets for industry modeling and analytics
  • Collaborate with financial teams at our largest customers to incorporate climate risk into their decision-making
  • Independently conceive, develop, and deliver analytical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Some travel required. Less than 10% expectedWhat You Will Bring:
    • Master's Degree in finance, financial engineering, econometrics/statistics, or another relevant field
    • PhD preferred
    • SCR Certification Preferred
    • FRM I and FRM II Preferred (or equivalent)
    • 2-8 years of experience in financial engineering methods
    • Proven programming and data analysis skills (such as Python, R, Stata, etc.)
    • Experience in financial services industry is a plusWhat Sets You Apart:
      • Passion to be an expert on the product and for being part of a fast-growing company in a critical field
      • Advanced financial engineering and credit risk modeling methods: structural and reduced form options pricing models
      • Familiarity with climate modeling and climate-related analyses from transition costs to transition opportunities, is a plus
      • Deep understanding of Bayesian and classical statistics including maximum likelihood, kernel density estimation, and MCMC that goes beyond application of ML packages.
      • TCFD modeling experience is a plus
      • Expertise in data visualization packages and applications (Tableau etc.) is a plus
      • Strong analytical and project management skills
      • Able to work with multiple departments and collaborate as needed
      • Effective written / verbal communication and presentation skills

        At Jupiter we value transparency and have a compensation plan where your full time salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Base Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. As of the date of this posting, In addition to your salary, Jupiter Intelligence offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Health, dental, and vision plans; wellness program; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan; employee stock purchase plan; life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; PTO; and employee-paid critical illness and accident insurance.
        For this role you can expect salary to range as follows: $110,000 - $175,000
