Coalition (PSC) is seeking a visionary Executive Director to
advance the $140 billion pet industry through profitable
environmental and social practices that create a positive impact on
the communities and environments in which it does business. -
Entering its second decade, PSC plans to multiply its
already-industry-leading sustainability influence through
delivering sustainable business services to its nearly 200 global
business members and advancing transformational and systemic
solutions that advance sustainable packaging, sustainable
ingredient sourcing, social responsibility and climate action. The
Executive Director will succeed PSC's co-founder at the helm to
lead a staff of 14 sustainability professionals in Boulder, CO and
an active Board of 10 global pet industry leaders, in a high-growth
fast paced environment. - Requirements The next Executive Director
(ED) will bring a honed visionary skill set that advances the pet
industry while unifying the industry, staff, and partners. The ED
will be great with big relationships, and a strong values-driven,
inclusive and authentic leader. They will focus on solving big
problems (not the little ones) while steering the organization to
deliver scalable solutions to the most pressing sustainability
issues. The ED will be proficient at closing big deals that move
the organization closer to fulfilling its mission. The incumbent
must bring a strong understanding of, and an established network in
the corporate sustainability sector. Ideally, the candidate will
also have knowledge of the pet products industry - or must have
shown strength in developing relationships quickly from prior
industry experience. - Timing - PSC's overarching commitment is to
find the right leader for this critical, once in a lifetime impact
position. Timing is less critical. Though an extended exploration
period is anticipated, it can also move more quickly if
appropriate. Therefore, consideration is open, and starting date is
flexible, between July 2023 and spring 2024. - Reporting Reports to
the Board of Directors. Direct reports to the ED are between 2-5
leadership team members and the Executive team including COO
(currently Interim ED), and Sr. Advisor and Co-Founder. PSC
believes the diversity of skills, backgrounds, viewpoints, and
experiences employees bring to their work will be a critical factor
in our success. PSC is committed to providing equal employment
opportunities for all applicants and employees. All applicants and
employees are evaluated on the basis of personal skill and merit.
Don't meet every requirement? No problem. Studies show that women
and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they
do, so we encourage you to apply anyway. PSC does not discriminate
on the basis of age, race/ethnicity, national origin, religion,
sex, gender identity, condition of pregnancy, perceived pregnancy,
breastfeeding status, medical conditions related to breastfeeding,
marital status, disability, veteran status, and sexual orientation.
This policy applies to all areas of employment including
recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, benefits,
transfer, and participation in social and recreational
programs.
