Director of Software Engineering
We are looking for a senior engineering leader to head up the
application development teams. In this role you will lead a team of
passionate and talented engineers to build innovative solutions
that serve global teams.. You will build and scale a team along
with the necessary technical platforms and processes. You will
provide leadership and execute technical projects involving
software architecture, design, feature development, and integration
while setting the bar for quality, performance, and security for
the team.
About the role:
- Build, manage and mentor a high performing, globally dispersed
engineering team.
- Coach and mentor team to ensure skills and deliverables are in
alignment with organization's business needs, values, and
standards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to shape the software
strategy and architecture
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to ensure the
technical strategy is aligned with business needs and
objectives.
- Direct and execute short and long-term departmental goals and
objectives in line with product vision while maintaining
appropriate standards of performance for the team.
- Plan, organize, and manage appropriate resources and headcount
to meet sprints and feature schedule commitments within budget and
agreed upon time frame.
- Bring your technical expertise and decision making to translate
the company strategy into concrete engineering
deliverables.
- Be actively involved and contribute to complex technical and
architectural decisions to ensure high performance, reliability and
security.
- Execute on the customer facing software roadmap in partnership
with the software product team.
- Enable the enterprise data strategy in partnership with the
data platform team.
- Identify, recommend and establish a set of engineering
principles and methodologies that match the complexity of our
environment.
- Mature the engineering discipline throughout the entire
lifecycle of solution design, development, testing, deployment and
production support.
- Establish and manage architecture and technical
standards.
- Develop scalable architecture and platforms to support growth
and scale.
- Continuously improve team velocity, throughput, and quality
leveraging agile methodologies and metrics . Monitor and report on
the engineering lifecycle, KPIs, and other relevant metrics and
continually incorporate improvements.
- Establish and maintain a high bar for operational excellence
including SLA reporting, monitoring and alerting, on call
rotations, incident management etc.

- Proven success developing systems and products for new
environments and experience with Greenfield Software
Development
- Demonstrated experience attracting, managing, developing,
coaching, evaluating, and retaining staff. Ability to lead,
influence, and motivate individuals and teams. Skilled in holding
people accountable, being held accountable, leading by
example.
- Experience with the cross-functional workflows and processes
within a mid to large size organization.
- Process orientated with a demonstrated ability to track,
evaluate, automate, and implement change at all levels.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with the
ability to assess risks and make informed decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects and
priorities with competing deadlines and re-prioritize as necessary
to align with current business needs.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to influence, lead,
and collaborate with global cross-functional teams and build
productive working relationships within and across teams.
Your Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in a wide range of programming languages
and cloud technologies. Experience with Javascript, AWS, and
typical architectures for SPAs, APIs, and data integrations and
synchronization is a must.
- 5+ years of experience in the leadership role.
- Hands-on technical leader with previous experience as a
Director of Engineering. Proven ability to lead teams of
25+.
- Experience with Experience with Agile methodology and
Continuous Integration.
- Good understanding of JavaScript, React, HTML5, CSS3 and other
front-end related languages.
Compensation: $175,000 - $200,000 with 10% Bonus
