Per Diem, Various hours.# Starting rate of $25.64#per hour, additional consideration based on years of experience.#A differential is provided for flexibility associated with scheduling. POSITION SUMMARY As a clinical employee for Behavioral Health Services which serves the needs of young, middle and older adults the TLC Clinical Intake Evaluator is responsible for the triaging, assessment, crisis counseling, and appropriate placement of patients either in BHS programs or other programs.# The position includes liaison with all Boulder Community Hospital#s programs, Mental Health Center, law enforcement, and community providers of Mental Health Services and self-help organizations. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education or Formal Training Masters Degree in Psychology or related field with one (1) year experience in a psychiatric or addictions intake setting or treatment setting preferred; or RN with five (5) years psychiatric treatment experience preferred, and one (1) year experience in psychiatric or addictions intake setting or treatment setting preferred. Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.) Colorado LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LAC, or Psychologist Licensure required for Licensed TLC Evaluator position. Colorado Registered Psychotherapist or LPC Candidate required within 3 months of hire for non-licensed Clinical Intake Evaluators Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates service excellence in job performance based on the six house values of ENCORE! Provides program information to client, providers and units # either written or over the phone. Triages calls to determine need for treatment assessment or referral based on clinical information. Demonstrates understanding of financial information, third party payors and its effect on triage. Provides consultation/problem solving to members of the Department of Psychiatry, medical staff, medical units of BCH and clinicians in the community. Assists Boulder Community Hospital staff and community affiliates in the admission of their patients to BHS programs. Facilitates assignments of a physician or clinician as appropriate for admission providing clinical and financial information.# Provides ongoing communication with the Mental Health Partners, triaging their patients and maintaining a balance on the unit. Consults with unit staff and managers regarding areas of concern and communicates pertinent information to the TLC Coordinator and other BHS coordinators. Provides support and follow-up of cases referred during evening and weekend hours. TLC CLINICAL EVALUATOR RESPONSIBILITIES Take report from TLC intake representative (including report on inpatient acuity). Review evaluation schedule and review all PI#s requiring evaluations. Review pending file and be prepared to provide update information as needed. When writing an evaluation complete all information in a thorough, legible, and professional manner. Record all update information on the PI continuation log and attach to the evaluation file.# All information in the file should be added in order of date and time, with the most recent being on the top of the file.# Write the original date of the PI at the top of the current page. Take phone calls while in the TLC office according to guidelines. When not taking phone calls, doing evaluations or writing up evaluations, the Clinical Evaluator should be doing QA reviews and reports and following up on cases as needed. Copies of PI#s should be routed to the TLC PI tray in the TLC office. When ER staff calls TLC requesting an evaluation for an insured patient, the Clinical Evaluator will respond within 30 minutes.# Be certain the insurance calls for a TLC evaluation not another assessment team.# If unable to respond to the ER in thirty minutes call with a definite time. When ICU or a medical unit requests an evaluation, a TLC evaluator will coordinate the scheduling and accomplishment of this in a timely manner not to exceed three hours. During after-hours evaluations the Clinical Evaluator will attempt to obtain insurance treatment authorization and ensure this information is coordinated with UR. All evaluations are to be coordinated with the admitting doctors, case managers and nurses. If inpatient unit refuses an admission, query the charge RN regarding which manager/director gave the rejection authorization. Working environment/Physical Activities Accomplishes tasks while working under pressure of consistent deadlines. Works in artificial light and sits for long periods of time. Works in a high stress and noisy environment. Maintains a heavy workload on daily basis and is able to accomplish tasks while being consistent with ENCORE! behavioral standards.
