Come be part of an independent, community-focused health system; feel good knowing that your work will make a difference in people's lives and positively contribute to the community.POSITION SUMMARYProvides general supervision of front office (reception, clerical, medical records) staff as well as performing the functions of a Medical Receptionist.Boulder Community Hospital (BCH) Primary Care Physician Clinics are guided by the philosophy of the Patient-Centered Medical Home. The medical home organizes care around patients, while engaging a multidisciplinary Care Team working proactively to coordinate and track care for each individual patient. JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation or Formal TrainingHigh School graduate or GED preferred with additional management courses desired.Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)Knowledge, Skill and AbilityKnowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems; including but not limited to Joint Commission and Corporate Compliance Programs and regulations.Knowledge of computer systems and applications.Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.Skill in verbal and written communication.Ability to work within a Care TeamAbility to take initiative and exercise judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, physicians, public and external agencies.ExperiencePrefer 3-4 years reception experience, preferable in a medical office setting.Prefer 1-year supervisory experience.WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESWork is performed in reception area. Involves frequent contact with sick and well patients and medical staff. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.Work may require sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies.Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, type, and operate a calculator, telephone, copies, and such other office equipment as necessary.Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be n the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods, and to work in an environment which can be very stressful.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConsistent and on time attendance is an essential function of the position. Performs essential functions of a medical receptionist.Supervises front office staff, ensures office systems run efficiently and effectively.Trains and orients front office personnel.Provides clinic manager with input regarding staff performance for evaluations, promotion, and disciplinary actions.Responsible for work assignment and daily operations of front office staff.Ensures adequate staffing to cover for vacations and illnesses.Resolves problems/conflict and ensures compliance with regulations and standards.Ensures that staff is productive and view the clinic in a positive working environment.Assists clinic manager with creating/updating job descriptions as necessary.Coordinates front desk staff meetings as needed.About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, ColoradoUncompromising medical excellence delivered with respect and compassion.
