Full Time, Days. Come join us and be a part of an independent, community-focused health system and feel good knowing that your work will make a difference in people's lives and be a positive contribution to the community.POSITION SUMMARYObtains high quality cross-sectional, two-dimensional ultrasound images of the heart and related structures, as well as recording M-mode and Doppler blood flow for the physician who interprets these diagnostic studies. Ensures adequate functioning of all equipment used in obtaining Echocardiograms.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation or Formal TrainingGraduate of an Echocardiography Training programSpecial Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)1. BLS required2. ARDMS RDCS registered or registry eligibleKnowledge, Skill and Ability1. Demonstrates skills in obtaining complete anatomical and blood flow information2. Demonstrates understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and pathophysiology and the ability to recognize structural and functional abnormalities during imaging and to extend and/or modify the exam as appropriate for that individual patient3. Demonstrates independence in obtaining comprehensive cardiac imaging and appropriate clinical information4. Demonstrates operating knowledge of the equipment used with the ability to troubleshoot associated technical problems and problem-solve5. Ability to interact effectively with patients and significant others, physicians and other personnel in the overall care of the patientExperienceNo experience required. New grads are considered.MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USEDIncludes all equipment associated with Echocardiogram testing. Needs familiarity with hospital beds and wheelchairsWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES1. Requires the ability to bend, crouch, twist or hold awkward positions for several minutes.2. Requires sitting for extended periods.3. Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.4. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing and touch.INTERRELATIONSHIPSPatients and family members, physicians and their office staffs, nursing personnel, unit coordinators, other hospital personnel and sales representatives as appropriateSUPERVISORY DUTIESNoneESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Explains purpose of test and procedure to the patient.2. Obtains necessary clinical history of present illness, reason for referral, and auscultation when appropriate.3. Enters record keeping data on the patients Electronic Medical Record.4. Performs test in accordance with developed policies and procedures and appropriate standards of care.5. Obtains high quality cardiac ultrasound images including M-mode, two dimensional, pulse wave, continuous wave, and color doppler modalities.6. Measures all parameters obtained from the study on the digital echo system.7.
