Job Description:
POSITION PROFILEAccountable for the results or demonstration of
significant creative, innovative, and problem solving ability
resulting insubstantial contribution to the state of the
art.Creates designs for, and performs the debug of, original or
prototype equipment, products, devices, components
orexperiments.Spends a significant amount of time providing
technical direction, training and assistance to other
personnel.Requires no direct supervision and rarely requires
assistance. Performs most current assignments totallyindependently
and needs only minimal technical guidance on new ones.JOB DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES--- Plans, sets up, and performs new, unusual,
or involved tests, procedures, experiments, simulations or
changes.--- Records and organizes technical data and observation.
Assist engineers, scientist or senior specialist by
analyzing,interpreting, and reducing data or observations---
Obtains general objectives from engineers, scientist, or senior
specialists, receiving information and instructionappropriate to
the assignment.--- May be consulted in project planning to
establish schedules.--- Receives general objectives from manager,
engineers, scientists, or senior specialist.--- Responsible for
results of technical direction, training, and assistance provided
to other personnel. Recognizeserrors in a wide variety of own and
others' work and assures corrective action is taken. Errors could
involve futurefinancial losses, due to wasted work or faulty
conclusions.--- Regular technical liaison with others outside of
own department including subcontractors. Typically works
withengineers and scientist in receiving information and planning
assignments.--- Considerable impact on business, given the
technical and logistics leadership role in providing for the
project they support.--- Understands the function, operating
principles, and adjustment of tools and equipment utilized in
assignments.Recognizes proper and improper operation of equipment
and takes corrective action.--- Expert in the use of specialized
tools and equipment. Utilizes appropriate programming languages as
required.--- Anticipates approximate results from most activities
in order to recognize and correct own and others' errors.---
Prepares technical reports and keeps technical records on assigned
projects.--- Provides technical assistance and information to other
personnel.--- Assumes additional responsibilities as
assigned.QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and
Certifications)Specialized knowledge of engineering disciplines or
physical sciences such as electronics, logic, mechanics,hydraulics,
plastics, metallurgy, ceramics and materials, design, layout,
chemistry, physics, or mathematics.Knowledge obtained through
formal training such as vocational training program, military
technical schools, or other education programs.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES--- Position requires regular interaction and
collaboration on technical issues with both department and
functionalpeers or subject matter experts and may occasionally have
discussions with technical and engineering staff atdifferent
locations.--- Negotiation may be required to resolve basic
technical issues.--- High degree of analytical ability, ingenuity,
and a highly specialized technical ability are necessary to modify
ordevelop new, unusual or more involved designs, layouts, products,
devices, methods or procedures.--- Demonstrates leadership by
spending a significant amount of time providing technical
direction, training, and assistance.Additional Pay Details:
