This unique business model is why many of our employees come and stay!SummaryBoulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking experienced and new graduate Medical Assistant and / or College Graduates with completed four year Health Science degrees to join our Orthopedics team. This position is part-time, working up to 24 hours per week, and is regularly scheduled to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays plus an additional day of the week. This position is benefit eligible and enjoys evenings, weekends, and major holidays off. In general clinic hours are 8 am to 5 pm.Job Duties:

  • Recognizes, evaluates, and responds to emergency or unusual situations in the clinic using judgment within skill level to obtain additional help, if needed, to ensure proper medical care.
  • Receives all patient phone calls regarding medical concerns/questions, medication questions, immunization inquires, patient forms (sports forms, camp forms, return to activity, etc.) and any other patient needs.
  • Tracks immunization schedules and notifies physician of upcoming requirements.
  • Directs patient medical concerns to proper member of the medical team (phone triage nurse, physician's clinic nurse, etc.).
  • Returns patient calls as directed by triage nurse and physicians.

    Skills and Abilities:
    • Broad knowledge base of general nursing practice, knowledge of acute practice based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.
    • Good history-taking skills, strong, competent computer skills; accurate and complete documentation skills; good time management and organizational skills.
    • Relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
    • Able to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision.
    • Able to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.Requirements
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Completion of an approved course of Medical Assistant (MA) study.
      • Must possess current Medical Assistant (MA) certification or registration from an accredited entity.
      • In place of a Medical Assisting Certification, a 4 year science degree is also accepted.
      • EMT certification acceptable credentials. Experience
        • 2-5 years previous Medical Assistant experience, preferred. Salary Range:
          • $16.54-$21.50 per hour; depending on experienceLocation:
