Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to manage patient care in a competent manner as outlined below. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality care in the procedural area.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation or Formal Training Completion of accredited nursing programSpecial Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)Colorado RN license in good standingBLS required within the conditional periodACLS required within the conditional periodCCRN, CVRN and/or RCIS preferred for Cath Lab.CCRN, RCES and/or CEPS preferred for EP Lab.ExperienceMinimum of two years experience in Acute Care setting. One year in Critical Care, Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology Lab preferred.Knowledge, Skill and AbilityDemonstrate ability to work in a multifunctional team environment and set priorities.Independent, self motivated, and able to prioritize multiple critical duties.Perform well in stressful situations under the direction of the physicians and co-workers.Ability to anticipate Physician and patient needs, quickly assess the situation and prioritize next steps.The RN is required to independently care for all patients that come to the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology Lab, including critical patients from ICU and acute patients from the Emergency Department.EP Lab: Demonstrate competency and understanding of highly specialized EP procedures and equipment, including but not limited to: Biplane x-ray, Cryo ablation, RF Transseptal puncture, RF ablation, cardiac stimulation protocols; interpretation of intracardiac electrocardiograms, 12 lead analysis, 3D electro anatomical mapping; Permanent Pacemaker, ICdD, CRT and CRT-D Implants and anesthesia assist.Demonstrates competency and understanding of sheath removal and achievement of hemostasis utilizing manual and mechanical compression as well as closure devices for both radial and femoral access sites.Demonstrates competency with departmental Point of Care testing such as ACT and oxygen saturations.Demonstrates solid understanding of anatomy and physiology.Demonstrates competency and understanding of sterile technique and AORN standards.Demonstrates physical and mental health to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practiceWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESCath Labs operate Monday through Friday with variable end times, dependent upon case load and patient acuity. After hours, weekends and holiday coverage provided by On Call Team.EP Lab operates Monday through Friday with variable end times, dependent upon case load and patient acuity.Physical working environment exposures may include, but not limited to any of the following: chemical, electrical, mechanical, radiation, medical gases, body fluids, biowaste, stress and back strain.,Must be able to frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a table, or transferring from a table to a bed), stand for long periods of time and twist.Must be able to transport patients and/or specimens and any accompanying equipment to the appropriate department.Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, and touch.Environmental conditions include, but are not limited to, variations in temperature, noise and multiple stimuli.About Boulder Community Health and Boulder, ColoradoUncompromising medical excellence, delivered with the values of respect and compassion.
