BoulderCentre for Orthopedics and Spine Hand and Physical Therapy is looking for physical therapists to join our team. BCOS is expanding and is searching for physical therapists that are committed to customer service, quality care, exceptional patient outcomes and have a desire to learn and grow as professionals. As a physical therapist with BCOS you will encounter a variety of operative and non-operative clients that require skilled hands-on care, a solid team approach and creative problem solving.BCOS is looking for full time (40 hours/week) Colorado licensed physical therapists.Full Time benefits are as follows:

Physical Therapist
Reports To: Physical Therapy Director, Physical Therapy Manager
Salary Range: $35 - $46/hour
Job Summary: The physical therapist assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Administers physical therapy treatments in accordance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act of Colorado by providing soft tissue massage, instrument assisted massage; initiating traction; applying physical agents - moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines; directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.
Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient records.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Develops physical therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education: Master's degree in physical therapy from accredited program; successful completion of clinical internship. Doctorate degree in physical therapy preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years of practical physical therapy experience with a preference in orthopedics and sports medicine; OR any combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:Current Colorado physical therapist license requiredCurrent CPR certificate required
Performance Requirements:

Knowledge of basic science including biology, chemistry, and physics as well as biomechanics, neuroanatomy, and disease manifestations.
Knowledge of medical practice policies/procedures, regulations, safety/injection control, and quality assurance requirements.
Knowledge of examination techniques and therapeutic procedures.


Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients including hands-on procedures such as deep-tissue massage.
Skill in using physical therapy equipment by consistently using devices appropriately to improve patient health status.
Skill in effectively maintaining equipment; successful completion of related competency testing.


Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally to educate patients about their physical therapy treatments.
Ability to demonstrate compassion and desire to help patients.
Ability to analyze data and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

Equipment Operated: Often demonstrates and helps patients use assistive and adaptive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and canes. Operates physical therapy equipment such as ultrasound, traction, and electrical stimulation. A laptop or computer at set workstation is used to document visit in EMR.
Work Environment: This position works in the patient physical therapy gym in a medical practice.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually during working hours. The position is subject to lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheel chairs, and transporting and supporting patients. The employee must be constantly alert for patient safety.
