This job exists to: Provide pro-active clinical support while
assisting the clinician in meeting patient care follow-up, exam
room set up and meeting organizational goals. *Must be bilingual in
Spanish and English. No certification required.* ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides patient services not requiring the
need of a provider, according to established protocols.
Assists providers with patient care in a professional manner:
Assists providers with patient follow-up.
Schedules/Reschedules follow up patient appointments.
Documents patient vital signs, medications, interventions (tobacco
use, screen for drug use, LMP, immunizations, etc.) and allergies
during each visit in medical record.
Anticipates provider needs, in house/outside labs, and prep patient
according to the visit type.
Provides follow up and patient education services to patients.
Completes tasks related to patient visit as necessary such as
documentation required for the Cancer Screening Program,
scheduling, imaging studies, and other tasks as needed.
Assures stocking and exam room set up is completed prior to each
visit and cleaned up after each visit. Washes instruments and
cleans room after last session.
Opening and closing lab, including autoclaving and packaging of
Assists with orientation and training of new medical
Prepares appropriate set up for procedures according to established
protocol and may assist as requested by the provider.
Inventory instruments on a regular basis.
Assists other teams when needed to assure appropriate MA
Request support from professional staff when required.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
over the life span.
Knowledgeable regarding immunizations as recommended by the CDC as
well as administration techniques for pediatric through adult
Completes and passes an annual competency assessment including
age-specific criteria. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains
a safe work environment:
Implements, reviews, applies and actively enforces the clinic's
Supports the safety program by actively looking for opportunities
to improve safety practices and evaluates staff for safety
practices and ergonomic issues.
Disciplines staff when safety policies are violated.
Knowledgeable of and compliant with laws and regulations governing
area of responsibility.
Responsible for reporting any potentially non-compliant
Cooperates fully with our Compliance Officer in upholding our

SUPERVISION: No SCOPE OF AUTHORITY: This position is expected to
perform responsibilities with general managerial direction.
For immediate problems, the position is responsible for independent
problem solving. Progress is reviewed quarterly and results are
measured and formally evaluated annually. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Graduate from medical assistant school
preferred. CNA certifications are accepted.
One year experience in a medical facility preferred. Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a team management
Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community a must.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Other pod members and site
Outside contacts such as community, other healthcare providers
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Medical supplies and
Telephone WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Risk of
exposure to blood borne pathogens

Ability to travel from clinic to clinic as required

Clinica will also pay any fees associated with receiving your
Medical Assistant certification. Certified Medical Assistant:
$20.50 - $25.50 per hour Uncertified/No Diploma Medical Assistant:
Slightly below certified range COVID-19 Vaccine (Required)
