RN Internal Traveler - Behavioral Health Services Nights. 36 hours/week. Pay range is between $75-$85/hr. Rates are market dependent and will be determined at the time of written offer. Contracts are 26 weeks. External applications accepted New hires cannot be ex-BCH employee within 6 months. Every other Weekend Required. POSITION SUMMARY As a clinical employee for Behavioral Health Services, which serves the needs of young, middle, and older adults, the registered nurse functions as a direct patient care giver within the unit care delivery system, with increasing independence.# Integrates nursing theories and solution focused therapy into patient care. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.) 1. RN license in good standing. 2. from the American Heart Association within conditional period. Knowledge, Skill and Ability Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice. Experience 1-2 years psychiatric experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Patient Care Provides direct total patient care for specific group of patients with collaboration as needed. Demonstrates clinical competence in performing nursing procedures and identifies the rationale underlying the nursing skills. Identifies patient care problems, makes interventions based upon an understanding of the biopsychosocial processes. Assesses patient status systematically and anticipates and responds to changes in patient clinical condition. Actively seeks participation of the patient, family, and other members of the health care team to assure continuity of patient care. Communicates clearly in all aspects of documentation. It is the expectation that all care providers document accurately and in real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their department. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards.# Is familiar with organization, department and job specific Environment of Care areas, including Life Safety, Utilities Management, Hazardous Materials Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control and Medical Equipment Failure. Leads/Participate in patient groups. Patient Education Identifies patient learning needs, develops and implements an individualized teaching plan for patients. Management and Decision Making Utilizes effective time management skills in planning and providing patient care. Provides constructive input to problem solving. Professional Growth Identifies own learning needs and expands knowledge base through clinical practice and self-directed learning. Participates in peer review process as requested. Attends unit educational programs. Professional Contributions Participates in achieving the goals of the unit, division, and hospital. Shares knowledge obtained from workshops and literature with health care team on an individual or group basis. Able to function as preceptor for students and/or orients with direction. Assists with data collection for QA/Lean and research activities as requested.
