Who We Are
Medical Services staff understand and are committed to the unique health concerns of our student population, making us an unparalleled source of advocacy for student wellness! The Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Interview patient for primary complaint, acquire appropriate vital signs and document pertinent medical history in the Electronic Medical Record during the patient intake process:
Historical data collection of previous allergies; updating patients medication list, significant medical history, patient's family medical history and learning barriers.
Responsible for charging and charting for all procedures, treatments and medications given.
Implement provider's plan of treatment for patients of all ages primarily late adolescent and early adulthood population.
Assist in direct patient care procedures, gives prescribed medications and immunizations.
Call in prescriptions and complete prior authorizations.
Assist nurses and providers during procedures based upon competencies in Medical Services. Once oriented to the front office, may also be asked to be responsible for front office duties on a rotating basis.
Assist the RN and Provider staff in code situations as delegated by an RN or provider.
Stock the exam rooms including infection, prevention, and cleaning of the rooms between patients.
Point of Care
Perform POC tests on patients on a regular basis, detailing tests in the EMR to reflect accurate charting and charging for any POC test performed.
Proficiency tests will be done once a year to keep compliance with CLIA regulations.
EMR Documentation and CIIS (Colorado Immunization Information System) Documentation
Document and charge all procedures, POC, treatments and medications given in the EMR.
Perform charting and charging at the time of care.
To keep in compliance with AAAHC, there will be periodic audits of the medical assistant charts two times per year. All COVID vaccine administration will need to be detailed in CIIS.
What You Should Know
This position will be on-campus.
This is a full-time position with the following work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

What We Require
High School diploma or GED.
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution by date of hire and eligibility to obtain and Medical Assistant registration/certification within six months of hire.
BLS certificate (upon hire or can be obtained within three months of hire).
