Registered Nurse - PACUHalf Time, Days. 24 hours/week. Pay Range
is between $33.26-$49.89/hr, depending on years of relevant and
like experience. #$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.# Boulder Community

Coordinates total nursing care for the peri-operative procedure
patient.# Provides intensive observation and care for the pre- and
post-operative procedure patient for which an anesthetic agent or
moderate sedation was used. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Special
Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.) Colorado Registered
Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Basic Life Support (BLS)
required by end of conditional period.# Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) certification required within conditional period.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support#(PALS) required within 6 months of
hire (eff. 6/30/2019) for all PACU RN#s required to participate in
on-call rotation.# Those RN#s with a secondary job code are not
required to take on call shifts. Member of professional
organization encouraged. Certification encouraged. Knowledge, Skill
and Ability Able to assess, treat and/or care for patients of all
ages. Demonstrates assessment and response to changes in the
patient#s condition.# (Basic understanding and integration of
patient care and practice.) Communicates clearly on all aspects of
documentation. Demonstrated physical and mental ability to apply to
nursing theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice.
Must assume call responsibilities. Must be flexible to rotate
shifts and adjust hours as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Patient Care Provides safe, competent,
effective nursing care in accordance with hospital, OCC/PACUs
standards of care, policies and procedures. When applicable,
employees must be able to adjust the essential functions they
perform appropriately to the age of their patient/customer.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of care of the
peri-operative/procedure patient. Assesses patient status
systematically and anticipates and responds to changes in patient
clinical condition. Reports pertinent observations or changes to
appropriate physicians and/or clinical lead and implements
emergency procedures as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of
arrhythmia recognition and treatment modalities. Administers
medications and performs treatments as ordered. Maintains complete
and accurate documentation. Ability to assess, treat and/or care
for patients with regard to age. PACU treats infant to geriatric.
Actively seeks the participation of members of the health care team
and patient#s family to ensure continuity of care. It is the
expectation that all care providers# document accurately and in
real time, utilizing the electronic medical record within their
department. Is familiar with organization, department and job
specific fire, safety and disaster policies. PACU RN: Demonstrates
clinical competency with routine PACU assessment skills. Assists
with special tests or procedures (e.g. epidural injection, regional
blocks, local injection, A-line insertion, and chest tube
insertion). Manage invasive lines in conjunction with invasive
monitors or CVP manometer (A-lines, subclavian). Demonstrates
knowledge and management of the patient with inadequate airway
resulting from emergence from anesthesia, regional anesthesia and
