$47.52 an hour#-#Full-time, Days Boulder Community health is
seeking an RN in Cardiac Cath Recovery that, under the direction of
the CVC and Cath Lab Supervisor, the RN performs professional
nursing in a safe and therapeutic manner in the care and treatment
of patients; provides safe, efficient and accurate technical
support within the department and gives guidance and direction to

and your family QUALIFICATIONS Colorado RN license in good standing
BLS required within conditional period ACLS required within one
year of hire Minimum of two years acute care nursing experience
Minimum of 1 year in cardiology preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES Patient
Care Nursing care is provided in conformance with current
recognized nursing practice, procedures, policies and established
standards of care. Monitors patient conditions continuously for
immediate recognition, interpretation and management according to
developed policies, procedures and standards Prepares patient for
Cardiac Cath procedures, providing patient education and
psychological support as needed Administration of intravenous
sedatives for conscious sedation, titration of the drug, patient
monitoring and recovery per hospital policy Provides post
procedural care through complete patient teaching, maintenance of
arterial and/or venous hemostasis, and prevention and control of
post Cath complications. This covers: Patient hemodynamically
unstable requiring: Intravenous vasoactive agents/titrating drips
Fluid resuscitation Life threatening conditions requiring:
Emergency drug administration (e.g., epinephrine, atropine)
Compromised air exchange requiring: Continuous respiratory monitors
Use of a manual resuscitation device (AMBU/anesthesia bag) Cardiac
dysfunction requiring: Continuous ECG monitoring A temporary
pacemaker Elective cardioversion A transcutaneous (external
pacemaker) Preparing, monitoring and recovery of a patient
undergoing permanent pacemaker insertion Intravenous
antidysrhythmic agents Defibrillation. Calibrates, adjusts,
maintains and operates equipment as necessary to ensure the safe,
accurate administration of tests and procedures. Performs
preventative maintenance and reports any malfunctions. Enhances the
quality and timeliness of patient care by working cooperatively
with other personnel Reviews all pre-procedural tests to assure
patient safety. Incomplete or unusual findings are reported to
cardiologist and documented prior to procedure Performs point of
care laboratory testing.# May be a point of care trainer May be
required to do moderately complex lab testing Assists other Cath
Lab/Recovery/Physician personnel to function more effectively as a
result of effective precepting Demonstrates the ability to resolve
conflicts independently or through the hospital processes to
maintain harmonious working relationships. Improves work
performance of other personnel as a result of evaluative feedback.
