Job Title: Oncology RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Strong Telemetry experience, 2 years required Description: This position is for a travel Registered Nurse specializing in oncology. The shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM. The unit has a total of 345 beds. The facility is recognized for its three-time Magnet designation. There is a float pool of approximately 80 staff members. The staffing structure includes Day Shift RNs and CNAs and Night Shift RNs and CNAs. Patient ratios are typically 1:5 during both day and night shifts, varying between units. The type of equipment used includes various medical devices and an electronic medical record system. Candidates must possess BLS and ACLS certifications. Strong telemetry experience is essential, with a minimum of 2 years required. Chemo certification is preferred and would allow for scheduling in the oncology unit. Typical procedures performed on the unit can vary. There is a large cardiac population on the unit, with two telemetry floors and a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Flexibility and a willingness to float to other units are important traits for candidates. The ideal candidate is a team player and exhibits compassion.
