The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory issues in a variety of settings, including acute care and geriatrics. This position plays a critical role in patient care, ensuring optimal respiratory function and comfort for patients across all age groups. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory therapy needs. Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as prescribed by physicians. Monitor vital signs and patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine to provide comprehensive patient care. Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies. Provide support in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. Requirements Valid Respiratory Therapy license or certification as required by state regulations. Proficiency in basic life support techniques. Experience or knowledge in geriatrics and acute care settings is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Strong skills in patient assessment and monitoring of vital signs. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as hospitals or trauma centers. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
