Parsons' Software Engineers that analyzes, designs, and develops computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. Reviews system architecture and selects and implements appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance. Tests and debugs related software. Responsibilities: Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programsTesting and evaluating new programsIdentifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modificationsWriting and implementing efficient codeDetermining operational practicalityDeveloping quality assurance proceduresDeploying software tools, processes, and metricsMaintaining and upgrading existing systemsWorking closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analystsTesting, selection and implementation of technologies, tools and working methods;Automation of security controls;The maintenance of the system and of the external and internal computer networksAt the technical level, the DevSecOps engineers must be able to work in a specific environment: Jenkins, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, Scripting YAML, SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing)Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.Works under consultative direction toward predetermining long-range targets.Provides advice and counsel to the organization in area of expertise.Requirements:A current, active Secret security clearance is required (TS/SCI preferred)Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer sciences, math, or physical sciences from an accredited institutionAdvanced degree supporting software system subject matter expertise a plusCandidate will be experienced in C++, Java, and PythonSQL (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)Experience with the design and development of software applications or algorithms for data management, processing, analysis and/or visualizationUnix scripting (bash, tcsh, ksh)pub/sub messaging conceptsFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and the full software development cycleExperience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)Orchestration, provisioning, and container familiarizationExperience with CI/CD and DevOpsWillingness and ability to learn new languages as necessaryExperience in developing applications and servicesHolds or ability to obtain Security+ certificationKnowledge of distributed systems, machine learning and multi-threaded applications is a plus.Experience using software engineering tools, such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence10+ years of related professional experience in delivering software development solutions for aerospace or space systems, which could include the following:Hands on design, build, test, and/or fault analysis experience with complex software architectures requiredKnowledge of DoD space mission integration processes (space vehicle to ground control system, space vehicle to launch vehicle systems, space vehicle to range systems) and experience with risk identification and risk managementAbility to effectively engage industry stakeholders, government staff, and technical panels to perform monitoring and assessment responsibilities in support of mission critical preflight risk assessmentsAbility to engage on multiple concurrent efforts that will each be a different stage of the assessment and evaluation cycleAbility to participate in cross functional planning, coordination, and task execution situations involving the full spectrum of system engineering and integration activitiesThe anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $150,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off and 401K.Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief.
