Job Description:

At Anark, the Software QA Automation Engineer & Mentor is responsible for the development of internal QA strategies for automated UI and load testing, regression and smoke testing, API testing, and manual UX testing. In this role, you would be responsible for executing tests and collecting results to identify and report defects to the product engineering teams and will confirm that defects have been fixed before software is released. This involves analyzing, reproducing, and logging customer-reported defects.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for testing multiple Anark product offerings on several platforms, including Windows client-server applications and virtualized and containerized web applications (on-premise and public/private cloud). You will also work on a team of engineers to stay up-to-date on new features, expected fixes, and release status.
This position also offers a unique opportunity to help develop the next generation of software engineers by being a Mentor! You will meet with two groups of high school interns to review manual and automated tests twice a week.
The ideal candidate will have strong JavaScript skills, a good understanding of QA practices and automation frameworks, and an aptitude for teaching and guiding younger developers as they seek to hone their own skills.
Required Education and Professional Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of software QA experience with web and client-server applications, half or more in Automation
    Required Knowledge and Skills
    • Experience with JavaScript end-to-end or functional testing frameworks that make use of Page Object Model, such as TestCafe, Jest, Cypress, or similar
    • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, cURL, or similar
    • Experience with Source Control, Defect Tracking, and Test Management Tools such as Azure DevOps or
    • Experience in NodeJS environment
    • Experience with HTML and CSS Selectors
    • Experience with RESTful APIs
    • Experience with Operating Systems including Windows Desktop and Server and RHEL 7+ (or similar)
    • Strong technical and communication skills-capable of garnering the respect of team members and associates within the company
    • Strong analytical skills-capable of troubleshooting, debugging, and assisting in the repair of customer environments
    • Strong work ethic-able to manage multiple deliverables while adhering to busy schedules
      Desired Skills
      • Experience with AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, or similar cloud computing offerings
      • Experience with Container Management Tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
      • Experience with CAD systems such as NX, Creo, or similar
      • Experience with the MERN stack
      • Experience with MacOS, iOS, and Android
      • Experience with SQL Server and IIS
      • Experience with Chaos Engineering tools such as Gremlin
      • Experience with JS load testing frameworks such as K6, Artillery, or similar
