Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) pushes the boundaries of
innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and strives for
continual improvement. Our team is chartered with providing
innovative technologies to develop, design, and produce optimized
product lines while providing a decisive advantage to the
warfighter. MDS is looking for new members to join our rapidly
growing technical team as a Principal/Sr. Principal Software
Engineer based out of Boulder, CO . This position includes:
- Tool and software development using C/C++ in a spiral
development framework.
- Work with configuration management software, including
ClearCase/ClearQuest.
- Generation of applicable documentation as required.
- Providing problem resolution and improvement
recommendations.
- Analyze and fix bugs to enhance usability, performance, and
maintainability of system Basic Qualifications:
- Level 3 : Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related
experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters; or 0
years of related experience with a PhD
- Level 4 : Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related
experience; 7 years of related experience with a Masters; 4 years
of related experience with a PhD
- Proficient in C/C++ and Python
- Experience with object-oriented design patterns and modern data
structures.
- Experience working with legacy software and modernization
efforts.
- Experience with configuration management software including
Git
- Ability to acquire U.S. Government DoD Secret security
clearancePreferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Physics, Math, or
related field.
- Basic skills in Matlab or Python and system modeling
- Experience in tracking and prediction algorithms, simulation,
validation, and algorithms
- Software algorithm development experience for complex,
mathematically intensive systems
- Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground
communications, and space operations
- Experience in the numerical implementation of motion
filters.
- Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and
Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
- Experience with real-time systems and low latency
requirements
- Experience with cloud, VM and containerization
technologies
- Experience with APL2, PERL, STK, or logging and parsing
tools
- Experience working in a Linux development environment.
- Strong statistical background and skills
- Experience with model-based engineering
- Experience with Agile Development
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite
- Experience with Java and shell scripting software
languages
- Experience with technical leadership responsibilities Salary
Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD -
$188,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
