Job Description Description About the Team: The Revenue Cycle team collaborates cross-functionally to ensure Fee For Service revenue is optimized. The team is comprised of trusted advisors who provide valued insights and deliver progressive solutions that drive Sound’s revenue goal across multiple service lines, providing an impact to the patient, our hospital partners and Sound Physicians.

About the role: Sound Physicians is looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Revenue Cycle department as VP of Revenue Cycle . This is a challenging role with the potential to make a large impact on the organization.

This role is responsible for the analysis of revenue cycle data, developing, planning, organizing and implementing strategies to improve the overall health of receivables and the financial impact to our hospital partners and to Sound Physicians. This position will assist in developing analyses and processes to proactively support the business line and optimize revenue cycle outcomes. This is a dynamic role that will interface with many departments across the organization as well as with our field operators and partners.

Revenue Cycle is responsible for professional billing, vendor management, coding, quality assurance, and provider enrollment, among other activities. This includes, but is not limited to; charge capture, claims submission, accounts receivables, write-offs, denials management, patient financial services, medical records and payer analysis (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Private Pay). This VP role will be a linchpin for Business Development and Field Operations in seeking to understand and utilize real-time data and act as a Strategic Advisor.

In this role, you will:

Collaborate cross functionally to develop fully informed views and insights into the drivers behind data, and present findings clearly and concisely

Accurately gather, synthesize, analyze and communicate timely relevant information to support decision making and to develop process improvement strategies

Develop strategic plans for revenue cycle resources and ensure goals and objectives are properly defined, implemented and tracked.

Enhance and standardize workflow processes throughout the revenue cycle to assist in achieving consistency in maintaining critical success factors as outlined in the company’s key performance metrics.

Perform financial analysis of revenue cycle processes, reports and present innovative solutions for improvement.

Support annual budgeting, monthly financial and revenue forecasting

Analyze FFS (fee for service) collection trending and proactively seek additional areas of revenue growth

Create models that connect strategies to measures of performance

Proactively provide analytical insight and solution around detection and prevention of future performance issues

Prepare narratives, Power Point presentations, graphs and reporting for field operations, clients, finance and revenue cycle.

Develop and prepare ad-hoc reports related to the revenue cycle optimization

Oversee key revenue cycle vendor partner relationships and ensure SLA’s are appropriate and met or exceeded.

Maintains strict confidentiality with regard to protected health information and understands and adheres to Sound Physicians HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures

Maintains strict confidentiality with regard to company legal and financial information

Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree required, with a Master’s degree preferred.

Expert knowledge of revenue cycle, healthcare payment models, physician practice management, payer contracting, and managed care models

Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare management

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in revenue cycle as an analyst, manager or equivalent in a fast-paced and dynamic organization with specific experience in Emergency Medicine professional billing.

Strong quantitative skills preferred with proficiency in Excel and Power Point

Other Details: Sitting at desk/working on computer up to eight hours a day

Indoor office environment
