This position is for an experienced manager who can lead and
assist 20 C&DM Specialists in their day-to-day roles on
programs across the company.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for C&DM personnel staffing assignments across
entire Ball Aerospace enterprise, including hiring and moving
personnel between programs
Annual employee Performance Reviews tied to employee development
plans, annual salary adjustments and promotions
Employee training to meet employee development needs and Ball
Aerospace strategic & operating objectives
Information flow-down to department personnel
C&DM process oversight and process improvement to meet Ball
Aerospace business needs
Oversight of C&DM Department budget to achieve
responsibilities listed above
Program engagement to address C&DM-related process
Provide leadership and mentoring for more junior members of the
Support configuration and data management teams in support of
major aerospace and defense programs.
Be a resource on C&DM issues in support of other
Manage deliverable data products required by customer contracts
and supplier subcontracts.
Support design reviews and conduct configuration audits.
Support bid and proposal activities.
Support contract negotiations and fact finding with customers
Prepare and give presentations to peers and management.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships across
the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the
Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive
and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
BS/BA in a related field plus 10 or more years related
Each higher-level related degree, i.e. Master’s Degree or Ph.D.,
may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
Ability to obtain a government Security Clearance
Demonstrated experience in Configuration & Data Management
An understanding of all aspects of planning, scheduling, risk
management, and team coordination.
A basic technical foundation for Space-based Missions –
satellites and ground systems
A desire to learn - our culture fosters intellectual curiosity
in a highly collaborative environment.
Effective in small team work environment with broad
responsibilities and minimal oversight.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean
room, or production floor.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other
possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to
obtain a DoD clearance or government customer access to
classified/sensitive material. A current DoD clearance is not
required to be eligible for this position, however the successful
applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance or government
customer access within a reasonable time after the offer is
extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance. *US
