Lead Mechanical Solutions (MechS) New Business strategy and
What You’ll Do:
Coordinate planning, staffing, execution and review of
mechanical proposal activities ensuring engagement of all
Develop, evolve and deploy business rhythms, insightful metrics,
tools and processes to maximize estimate accuracy.
Maintain MechS proposal database in JIRA.
Coordinate with other Engineering New Business teams to develop
and maintain a robust actuals and proposal database.
Understand historic program actuals and how to appropriately
leverage them in support of costing efforts.
Identify and communicate cost, technical and schedule risks and
opportunities to Engineering, SBU's (Strategic Business Units) and
Promote and enable Architecting to Cost.
Develop and deploy training to increase estimating skills within

requirements/deliverables of our customers (BOE, RCE, CERs…).
Upon award, coordinate with program team to ensure understanding
of proposal technical/ schedule/cost baselines, assumptions, risks
Act as Point of Contact for Engineering SSU (Strategic Sourcing
Unit) proposal reviews.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support
Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order
to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related
Each higher-level degree, i.e. Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience throughout the full product lifecycle from proposal
through delivery of mechanical products.
DoD, NASA and commercial aerospace customer experience.
Demonstrated commitment to the development and deployment of
Proven ability to lead and influence.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. Ability to obtain and
maintain a TS/SCI is required.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory,
cleanroom, or production floor.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other
possible non-Ball locations may be required.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not
required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must
be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an
offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable
