The right candidate will have significant exposure to cleaning of optical components and assemblies both prior to and following deposition of thin-film coatings. Job functions performed will be inclusive of the following:Cleans parts prior to and following deposition of coatings or during other manufacturing steps using both hand cleaning and spin cleaningCleans and inspects glass and crystal parts and assembliesPackages parts for shipment to customerLoads and unloads complex parts into coating toolingInspects parts and measures defect sizes against MIL specificationsWork with engineering to improve cleaning and inspection processesStrong work ethic and will not mind doing repetitive tasksCan think for themselves and learn new skills with a strong desire to learnVery much a team player with solid communication skillsAbility to read, follow and understand proceduresUpdates Shop Floor Manager as requiredAny other duties and functions as assigned based on workload and demandsFollows all safety training and guidelinesRequirements:A 2-year technical degree, or 3+ years relevant experience is desiredDirect experience with optical components or cleaning of small parts desiredExperience with optical contacting desiredFamiliarity with microscope inspection techniques desiredExperience with MIL-PRF-13830B desiredStrong written and oral communication skillsBasic understanding of computer hardware and interfacesAdditional Requirement:This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements.
