This position is for anarticulate, eager,and highly qualifiedattorneywith approximately3-5yearsexperiencewho is passionate about the energy transition,wants to helpcreatepositive impact, andthrivesin ateam-oriented,fast-paced,andagileworkenvironment.Application deadline: April 23rd, 2021Position Overview: TheLegal Directorwill bea full-timein-house lawyerwho will report to the General Counsel.The ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated,business-minded, solutions-orientedattorney who enjoys operating autonomouslyandcancomfortablymanage multiple projects and competing priorities. This person bringssystems thinking,extraordinary judgment,and interpersonal skills toa role that will collaborate closely with others throughout the organization. KeyResponsibilities: Work acrossvariousprogram areas to supportthemwith all types of legal needs, including but not limited todrafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractsand providing guidance about how to structure legal relationships andtransactions Collaborate withRMIs People Teamtohandleemployment law matters within the organization, including preparing responses to charges filed with administrative agencies such as the EEOC and providing oversight of employmentlitigation Provide legal advice and recommend coursesof action to resolve employment legal issues in compliance with organization policy and applicablelaws Work with RMIsFinance team on compliance issuesand protocol Partner with RMI's Grants Subaward Coordinator to ensure all outgoing subaward agreementsare in compliance withthe original agreements between RMI and thefunderMonitor and draft corporate documents and policies asneededCoordinate withoutside law firms across a variety of practice areas and jurisdictions.MinimumQualifications: JD degree, licensed to practice law inColorado 3-5years experience, preferably in a general law practice with expertise in contract,employment, and general compliancelawExcellent verbal and writing skills, and the ability to simplifycomplicatedlegal issues andlanguageWhole systems approach to problemsolvingAdditional Qualifications: Experience in or knowledge of nonprofit law will behelpful The ability to quickly master and integrate legal, business, technical, and practicalanalysisDesire andabilityto work independently as well as in a teamsettingLocation Thispositionis currentlyremotewithCOVID-19 pandemicconstraints.Thisrolewillbe located at one of ourColoradooffice locations, listed below, with furtherdiscussionthroughout the interview process. Compensation The salary range for this role is $108,000-$125,000.Salarywillbe determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This role has an additional 20% bonus target.
