We're looking for a Head of E&A to join our team. who we are Flytedesk is a fast growing start up that powers media and advertising on college campuses. We build the technology that college media organizations and universities use to manage their operations. We build the technology that small businesses use to reach students. We work with brands, campaigns, and causes as their college partner in understanding, reaching, and driving outcomes with students. We have a presence at almost every college in the country and the ability to reach 20 million students through campus billboards, student influencers, campus email newsletters, college newspapers, digital ads, SMS, and more.
We started flytedesk as the tool we needed at our college newspapers and have grown to become the single largest funding source for student journalism. Brick by brick, we're creating a sustainable business model for college media by providing a coveted service to advertisers. We're mission-driven, profitable, newly remote, and unrelenting in pushing our business and customers forward.
who you are Politics is our favorite vertical and in a very short period of time we've gotten to work really closely with a huge roster of our dream clients. In 2020 that meant candidates like Biden, Bernie, Mayor Pete, Mark Kelly, Mark Warner, Bullock, Hickenlooper, Warnock, Ossoff, and organizations like the DCCC, VoteAmerica, NextGen, Acronym,, various state parties, and a number of different agencies. Sometimes partners use flytedesk as a platform, but increasingly we're able to work as a part of the team, working with key decision makers and helping set higher-level strategy to maximize the college vote--- and that's what we're most excited to invest in moving forward. Now, we're looking for someone who can help build on our success from 2020, solidify and scale our operations, ensure that our clients have a phenomenal experience, grow our thought-leadership, and ultimately build out our Elections & Advocacy team. Flytedesk now has three election cycles under its belt and we're excited to continue to invest in getting students out to vote. This role will help lead all left-of-center business for the 2022 cycle. responsibilities Sales/Strategy: We're a bunch of bleeding hearts but this is a sales role first and foremost. You'll work with our team to pitch business, manage pipeline, make presentations and proposals, build student turnout strategies, understand flytedesk products, and expand our position in the market. Account Management: Great account management is when you care about a client's success as much as they do. You'll monitor performance, keep stakeholders informed and aligned, and constantly look for ways to make our client experience great. Operations: Our trains run well, no matter what; we'd never let a client experience anything else. BUT, process-orientation is an area we want to double down on this cycle. You'll work with our internal teams to make sure client expectations are exceeded, efficiently and ahead of schedule. Marketing/Branding: We're probably the only company that worked on the presidential or any of the big Senate races and never sent out an email taking credit. That's in part because such behavior is anathema to us--- but honestly, more because it takes time and resources and savvy we haven't allocated to it. You'll help grow flytedesk as a thought-leader on the college vote, attend conferences, be nice-but-a-little-edgy on panels, work on research projects, develop collateral, and generally help build the playbook for engaging student voters. skills Must Have:

  • Significant experience in politics--- call it a minimum of 3 cycles under your belt.
  • Viciously organized, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A "make it work" attitude and excitement to learn and grow. This is a leadership position and we expect you to inspire your colleagues and push the company forward. Nice to Have:
    • College media or journalism experience. We're generally mission driven in terms of progressive politics but we're specifically mission driven in saving journalism.
    • 2+ years in sales/account management. It's teachable, but it's awfully helpful if you've been steeped in client service experience previously. your team You'll begin by slotting into our current infrastructure. That means a lot of work with our CEO (who's led most political work to date) and our Sr. Advisor for Elections & Advocacy (who's been right there with him, though with a bit less focus on the tactical day-to-day). You'll also work closely with our ops and supply teams that manage the work we do on campus. Going into 2022, you'll help continue to build the Elections & Advocacy team in advance of the midterms. This role reports directly to the CEO.
