As a key member of the Summer Camp leadership team, the Director is responsible for leading staff, interacting with parents, writing curriculum and activity plans, and promoting positive member engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Job Skills / Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum age of 21.Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values.People centered, service oriented.Ability to lead, manage, and supervise a staff team.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Previous camp or group work experience is expected.Essential Functions:Uphold the mission of the YMCA, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.Stands and greets parents and campers by name and communicate in a professional manner about their childs activities/dayLeads group songs, games and crafts, and engages campers in learning activities.Maintains positive relationships with the members, participants, staff, supervisor, and partnering agencies.Writing lesson plans, and implementing educational activities consistent with the weekly themes.Knows, understands, and consistently applies all safety rules, and ensures staff team does as well.Possess a willingness to work with youth and staff while having FUN.Able to be a role model for campers, teens, and staff in our programs.A leader that has initiative, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills.Attends all staff meetings and training as anize and lead weekly field tripsEnsure a safe and positive environmentCompletes required abuse rick management training. Adheres to policies and procedures in managing high-risk activities and mandated abuse reporting requirements to authorities.Physical Demands:Lifting up to 50lbsClimbing, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, and stoopingTolerate heat and humidity for extended periods of timeMust be able to be outdoors for major portions of the day.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Noise level- HighMulti-tasking environmentExposure to heat and sun for extended periodsStanding for extended period Additional Information / Benefits The YMCA of Greater Louisville maintains a strong commitment to training and professional development, and has been recognized as a 2011 "Top Work Place".
