Incoming Material Inspector - Boulder, CO

Particle Measuring Systems (PMS) sets the standard for cleanroom contamination monitoring. With more than 60 patents, we create the technology that enables our customers to make fact-based decisions, improve process yields and comply with ever-changing regulatory requirements.

The Role

Be part of the production quality team's efforts to deliver the highest quality products to our customer in a low volume high mix manufacturing facility. The Incoming Material Inspector will inspect parts (supplier quality process) based on blueprints and mechanical drawings in a dedicated inspection lab. This role will interact with the production floor technicians who assembled the product and inspect assembled instruments at the end of the manufacturing process based on checklists and assembly procedure.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Work from blueprints and engineering drawings to inspect parts to assure they meet specifications.
  • Perform incoming inspections on parts received from vendors.
  • Provide feedback to management on the quality of the materials received in inspection.
  • Set and use a variety of precision instruments.
  • Work from inspection checklists and work instructions used on the production floor
  • Keep detailed required inspection records.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of measuring devices such as micrometers, gages, indicators, coordinate measuring machines, comparators, inspection fixtures, and use of surface plate equipment.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and be capable of calculating print dimensions, angles, and radii, etc.
  • Must have a working knowledge of production processes and product requirements.
  • Should possess both written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma is required.

Location - This is an "in-office" position 100% of the time with Covid precautions being taken. The location of this position is in Boulder, CO

Pay Range

$14.50-20.87 depending upon experience

How we determine what we pay (compensation philosophy)

Particle Measuring Systems determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for the Boulder, Colorado area. We will evaluate external equity, which is the relative marketplace job worth of jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we to make competitive offers between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range. This allows the new employee room for future merit increases during review cycles. There may be times when we will offer above the midpoint. The decision to do so will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and the compensation rates of the employees within the company doing the same position.
