If you are a/an Instrument Support Specialist professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will provide technical and application support for our instruments. Provide evaluation and post-sales delivery of technical and/or application assistance to ensure optimal product performance in customer applications. Provide coaching and training on detailed technical topics, customer applications/uses and product operating technologies for Tier I instrument support providers, including internal and external customers. AS AN INSTRUMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST, YOU WILL: Provide instrument and application troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment, ensuring delivery of complete and accurate technical solutions to improve and/or solve basic measurement/product performance issues. Identify and understand customer issues, quickly form accurate problem statements and opportunities, and compare data from various sources to draw conclusions. Offer alternative solutions where appropriate with the objective of retaining customers' while developing and sustaining productive customer relationships. Provide pre-sales technical instrument support serving as an escalation point for Inside Sales Engineers to ensure the measurement devices are operating as designed. Document proven problem solutions, customer interactions, customer feedback and communicate customer requirements related to new products and support of products. Act as liaison between external customers and cross-functional departments. Actively support the Rapid Response process. Document Possible Quality Issues (PQIs) in CRM using the appropriate level of urgency based on the customer experience. Verify and approve Advance Warranty Replacements on instruments supported. Download and test existing and new software releases for all products supported and provide feedback. Review and approve technical publications prior to release, identify obsolete product literature and work with subject matter experts to develop technical documentation. Actively participate and/or lead Continuous Improvement Process teams and collect data to create and maintain control charts. Perform technical training for Tier 1 Instrument Support providers. WHO YOU ARE: You demonstrate effective interpersonal skills (written & oral) to resolve internal and external customer issues proactively, tactfully, and effectively, often in stressful situations. You are able to plan, develop, and complete tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment. You have advanced knowledge of PC software installation and software user testing and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills. You have a basic knowledge of electrical theory and the use of functional test equipment. Qualifications : REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Experience: Two years of technical instrumentation, application customer support with precision flow instrumentation is required. Process control systems experience, or instrument field service/sales is strongly preferred. Education: Associates degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and technical experience. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $53,000 - $81,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
