stay!Summary: Boulder Medical Center is seeking a IT candidates to
join our IT team as a Senior Informatics Specialist. This position
will work 40 hours per week, is benefit eligible, and will enjoy
weekends, nights, and major holidays off.Under the direct
supervision of the Director of IT, the Senior Informatics
Specialist performs research, assessments, testing, documentation,
training, maintenance and code/template development of the
Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM)
systems. Develops needed competency to carry out or participate in
problem analysis and system design preparatory to the development
of new functionality, updates and template development. Designs,
codes, tests, debug and documents process related to the electronic
medical records. Participates in the continual improvement of
EHR/PM operations developing and working within established design,
protocol and release policies. Provides basic database
administration and development. The candidate should have extensive
experience with EHR (NextGen strongly preferred) concepts and
processes. Additionally, the candidate should be intricately
familiar with physician clinic workflows. The candidate will be
responsible for meeting with various business units and clinical
areas to evaluate workflow and apply technological solutions to
enhance productivity and efficiencyJob Duties include but are not
- Collaborates with physicians and medical office staff to
analyze/identify requirements and document recommendations for
appropriate solutions related to the NextGen EHR system.
- Meets with clinical and administrative staff to assess
workflows and apply innovative technical solutions with a goal of
- Uses advanced familiarity with EHR systems and clinical
workflows to recommend new processes and policy for the practice.
Serves as a subject matter expert for these realms.
- Collaborates with Business Office staff to analyze/identify
requirements and document recommendations for appropriate solutions
related to the NextGen PM system.
- Participates in software development and administration of the
NextGen EHR system. Utilizes established policies, standards and
procedures for version control, report development, practice builds
and software development life-cycle of the templates. Participates
in the application security process, user setup, role definitions
and security configurations. Assists in installations, upgrades or
patches to software releases.
- Designs, creates and maintains EHR reports as needed using
SQL-based query and reporting tools. Comprehension and
understanding of Crystal Reports functionality, providing EHR
reporting solutions for business or incentive reporting.
- Designs, creates and maintains PM reports as needed using
SQL-based query and reporting tools including the Background
Business Processor (BBP).
- Provides clinical background and knowledge for EHR users,
motivating and training them to take advantage of workflow
efficiencies, electronic ordering and messaging and methodologies
used to reduce paper flow.
- Assists in SQL Server issues, design, upgrades and backups.

methodologies. Construct queries to retrieve, update data and to
create, alter and drop constructs.
- Provides EHR/PM training when needed; Provides assistance and
trouble-shooting for diverse clinical user groups with varying
- Associates degree in computer science, information systems or a
related field required. Bachelor's degree with combined clinical
and technical training, highly desired. Clinical certification
and/or 1 year of hands-on EHR experience required. 2-4 years of
hands-on EHR experience a plus.EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years' experience developing and/or supporting software
solutions in a networked environment. 3+ years of clinical

strongly preferred. In lieu of this certificate, candidate will be
required to pass applicable tests within 3 months of start date and
maintain certification throughout their tenure.INITIAL TRAINING ON
