Physical Therapy Assistant
BoulderCentre for Orthopedics and Spine, Hand and Physical Therapy
is looking for physical therapist assistants to join our team. BCOS
is expanding and is searching for physical therapist assistants
that are committed to customer service, quality care, exceptional
patient outcomes and have a desire to learn and grow as
professionals. As a physical therapist assistant with BCOS you will
encounter a variety of operative and non-operative clients that
require skilled hands-on care, a solid team approach and creative
problem solving.BCOS is looking for full time (40 hours/week)
Colorado licensed physical therapist assistant.Full Time benefits

SalaryRange: $22.00 - $27.00
Reports To: Physical Therapy Director, Physical Therapy Manager
Job Summary: Under general supervision, the physical therapist
assistant assists physical therapists in the implementation of
patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility,
function and strength.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
May assist in the development of treatment plans, the documentation
of treatment progress, and the modification of specific treatments
in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment
plans established by physical therapist.
Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients with modalities,
rehabilitative activities and exercises in their treatment plan, as
prescribed by a physical therapist.
Provides quality care to all patients as appropriate for patient
pathology.
Utilize a variety of treatments and techniques to restore, improve
and maintain functioning, alleviate pain or prevent physical
dysfunction in patients.
Confers with patients, medical practitioners or other appropriate
parties to plan, implement or assess intervention programs.
Manages active patients to ensure attendance and compliance with
treatment plan.
Document care and other patient information, including history,
treatment and consultations, in accordance with HIPPA and NMOA
policies.
Observe patient during treatments to compile and evaluate data on
patients' responses and progress and report to physical
therapist.
Fit patients for orthopedic braces, and supportive devices and
instruct them on proper use and care.
* Measures patient's range of motion, length and girth of body
parts, and vital signs to determine effects of specific treatments
or to assist physical therapist to compile data for patient
evaluations.
* Adheres to company policies as described in employment handbook,
clinic policies and procedures, regulatory standards and company
work rules.
* Ensure patient service and quality standards are met including
patient interaction and cleanliness of facilities.
* Attends required meetings and participates in committees as
requested.
* Maintains confidentiality of patient account and employee
information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and BCO policy.
* Participate in plans for continuous quality improvement regarding
patient care, staff development and facility advancement.
* Complies with professional, ethical and legal standards.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Graduate of an accredited PTA program
Other Requirements:
* Actively licensed as PT Assistant in the State of Colorado
required.
* Current CPR certificate required.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of PT principles, standards and practices
* Knowledge of the exercises, modalities and training techniques
used in physical therapy.
* Knowledge of BCO policies, procedures and limitations
Skills:
* Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills.
* Effective clinical problem-solving skills
Abilities:
* Ability to administer a wide range of physical therapy treatments
using a variety of methods and apparatuses.
* Ability to follow detailed therapy plans and instructions;
ability to adapt exercises to specific needs of patient and to
recommend therapy changes which facilitate the patient's
progress.
* Ability to plan, organize, instruct and lead the work of
others.
* Ability to record accurate treatment notes and patient progress
through oral and written communication.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with staff, co-workers, patients and vendors.
Equipment Operated: Often demonstrates and helps patients use
assistive and adaptive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers,
crutches, and canes. Operates physical therapy equipment such as
ultrasound, traction, and electrical stimulation. A laptop or
computer at set workstation is used to document visit in EMR.
Work Environment: This position works in the patient physical
therapy gym in an orthopedic practice.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The
position walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually
during working hours. The position is subject to lifting objects
weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheel chairs, and transporting and
supporting patients. The employee must be constantly alert for
