Job Description:

Full Time, Nights. 36 hours/week. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00pm - 7:30am. Pay Range is between $40.12-$56.18/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. **Range includes Night differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts. POSITION SUMMARY Provide patient care and perform CT (Computed Tomography) / DX (Diagnostic Radiological) studies. Acts as a problem-solving leader and organizer, by communicating well with staff. Must be able to perform work independently. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Educational or Formal Training Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT) for Radiology Technology
Completion of CT training (structured or on the job) Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.) BLS by the end of the conditional period
Active Registered Technologist (ARRT) for CT, or CT registered within:
two years from hire/transfer date for trainee, or
18 months from hire/transfer date for registry eligible staff
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Must have intricate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and a basic understanding of human physiology.
Ability to problem solve.
Able to adapt exam routines and techniques when necessary to optimize quality of exams.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work closely with radiologists and other physicians.
Must have moderate computer and organizational skills.
Ability to handle stress.
Ability to perform venipuncture.
Knowledge of sterile preparations and procedures.
Prefer one-year experience in field at Boulder Community Hospital.
Occupationally exposed to radiation.
Exposure to contagious disease and body fluids.
Walking and standing required 75% of the time.
Stressful environment and fast pace.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.
The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).
Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.
Performs quality patient care.
QA/QC activities.
Schedules patients.
Coordinates clinical information and previous testing to determine if additional views need to be obtained.
Monitors and cleans equipment, and reports equipment problems to the Supervisor.
Performs exams pertinent to CT/Diagnostic Imaging and use radiographic exposure technique that minimizes radiation exposure.
Performs injection of contrast material.
Oversees the handling of patient complaints and concerns.
Must be able to work on-call hours as needed.
Provide for proper charging and credit as to services performed.
Shift Duties
Must be able to work independently.
Must be a problem-solving leader.
Responsible for all CT exams ordered throughout the staffed shift.
Responsible for all Diagnostic exams ordered throughout the staffed shift.
Assuring all procedures done during staffed shift are processed for interpretation by the Radiologist.
Required CT/DX room preparation for the next on-coming shift (scanner warm-up and calibrations, room schedules, room stocking).
Is responsible for regulatory requirements.
Responsible for preparing for OR cases on grave shifts (setting up C-arm, placing order, etc.) and beginning the surgical case.
Responsible for calling in additional staff when there are multiple traumas, strokes, and/or OR cases.
