If you are an EHS Specialist, looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! -Based in our Boulder location, under the supervision and direction of the EHS Manager, you will coordinate assigned EHS programs and support safety initiatives. Administer and monitor environmental, safety and health compliance programs to ensure the site maintains a safe and healthful operation which meets company objectives and regulatory requirements.
AS AN EHS SPECIALIST YOU WILL: -

• 
  
• Provide support, expertise and reporting (metrics) for the EHS electronic management system and Global Learning System.
  
• Conduct research on EHS requirements (regulatory and corporate).
  
• Facilitate basic risk assessments, equipment reviews and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) as assigned and recommend/implement effective controls.
  
• Conduct instructor-led training on subjects including but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Storm Water Management, New Employee Orientation, Chemical Safety, PPE, Hearing Conservation, Ladders/Fall Pro, Ergonomics, Flammable Liquids, Hazardous Waste.
  
• Coordinate and participate in routine safety audits/inspections.
  
• Administer the PPE program for employee purchases of safety glasses, shoes, hearing protection, etc.
  
• Interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and manage an SDS database.
  
• Perform basic noise surveys, air monitoring, mapping and drafting written reports.
  
• Conduct and document monthly hazardous waste inspections.
  
• Coordinate and oversee the emergency action plans including coordination of annual drills.
  
• Maintain -a current -knowledge of EHS laws and regulations.
  
• All other duties as assigned to -compliment and support site EHS Manager.

  REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's -degree -in Engineering, Occupational -Safety, Industrial -Hygiene, -Chemistry, -or -related
    
    • 
      
    • For candidates without a bachelor's degree, 5 (7 combined) years of EHS manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of degree with a High School Diploma.
      
      
    • 2 years of EHS experience -
      
    • Expertise in Environmental, Health and Safety laws and regulations.
      
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States
      
      PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
      
      • 
        
      • Professional certification (ASP, GSP, OHST, CHMM, etc.)
        
      • Experience in manufacturing environment

          Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range -for this role is $78,200 -- $90,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role. -
