role.Job DescriptionThe National Renewable Energy Laboratory is
searching for an administrative professional at the NREL Flatirons
Campus south of Boulder, Colorado.The successful candidate serves
as the as the Business Support Specialist for the Wind Energy
Systems and Wind Energy Science Groups. These Groups include
engineers and scientists that conduct wind energy research in the
field and facilities at the 305-acre site. The successful candidate
will also be a member of the Business Support team and support
other members in their absence and on an as-needed basis.This
position can be fast paced and dynamic. There are excellent
opportunities to learn about wind energy research. This is a very
customer-oriented position, and you will be asked by internal staff
to assist with a variety of tasks, not limited to the job duties
described below.Job DutiesTo perform in this position successfully,
an individual must be able to perform each essential and
appropriate duty.* Assist with some aspects of employee hiring and
onboarding, entering job requisition in Workday, scheduling of
interviews, Workday on boarding after offer is accepted, space
assignment, computer equipment ordering.* Supporting the processing
work orders, move forms, and visitor approvals.* Assisting the
Business Support team lead and other Business support team members
when needed.* Meeting and event planning and scheduling in MS
Outlook, including coordination and logistics for on-site and
potentially off-site meetings as well as webinars.* Managing short-
and long-term industry partners that need access to campus.*
Interfacing with outside entities and individuals including
subcontractors, vendors, speakers, and others as needed.* Working
in numerous online administrative tools.* Coordinating foreign and
domestic travel including submitting requests, tracking approvals,
reserving airfare, lodging, and rental cars, and processing expense
reports in Concur.* Purchase orders, requisitions, and invoice
processing.* Composing and editing letters, documents, and
presentations.* Assisting with publication preparation and
documentation.* Have a high degree of confidentiality and
professionalism in an environment with sensitive and proprietary
information.* Work with other administrative staff across the
laboratory on tasks, activities, and events.* Act as a resource to
staff on institutional processes, procedures, and requirements, and
provide input and recommendations on organization-specific
administrative practices.* Coordinating calendars, schedules, and
meeting logistics.* Generating internal and external
correspondence.* Strong written and verbal communication, strong
organizational and interpersonal skills.* PCard ordering and
reconciliation.* Coverage with reception desk for lunches, breaks,
PTO of other Business Support individuals.* Assist two group
managers, with scheduling and other calendar maintenance.*
Providing support at the manager level and to the group..Basic
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 1 or more years
of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or,
relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable
scope or equivalent relevant education/experience.* Must meet
educational requirements prior to employment start date.Additional
Required Qualifications* Excellent communication, organizational,
interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills are required.* Ability to
work with a wide variety of day-to-day issues and work styles.*
Experience with webinars and other long-distance collaboration
software and hardware.* Experience carrying out projects from
inception to closure.Preferred Qualifications* The preferred
candidate will have previous administrative assistant experience.*
Prior administrative experience with Microsoft SharePoint and
Oracle Business Suite..Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40
hours per week)Job Profile: Business Support II / Annual Salary
Range: $41,600 - $66,600NREL takes into consideration a candidate's
education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity
of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal
value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay
alignment when determining the salary level for potential new
