The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (
CIRES ) at the University of Colorado, Boulder encourages
applications for an IT Support Specialist to diagnose, repair and
manage Windows, MacOS, Mobile and Linux systems! This university
staff position will work within the CIRES IT team and associated
partners to resolve a wide range of IT and server-related
issues.
This role will provide technological assistance for desktops,
laptops, servers and mobile devices, and will also work with
network management, computer auditing, backup monitoring, printer
management, AV support, and instrument control solving.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Provide IT support to all CIRES members via multiple communication
paths.
Help Desk, Email, Phone, In-person support.
Diagnose and resolve computer problems (Cross-platform).
Diagnose network problems.
Fix a wide variety of technical problems (hardware and
software).
Printer connectivity and maintenance.
Set up and configure new computers (Cross-platform).
Assist in remote meeting setup/recording(Zoom, YouTube, Google
Meet).
What You Should Know
This position offers a hybrid work modality with a minimum of 3
days on-site per week.
What We Can Offer
The hiring range for this position is $55,000-$70,000 annually.
Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

What We Require
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Information
Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
may substitute.

Ability to thrive within a team environment.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication
skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Willingness to work with different custom software needs.
Capability to suggest new and differing solutions to
team/patrons.
Willingness to learn how different facets of CIRES operations
work.
Proficiency with multiple OS environments: Windows, Linux,
MacOS.
Willing to provide light instruction to less expert users.
Familiarity with meeting room technology.
Ability to setup Audio/Video tools and equipment for hybrid
meetings.
Ability to diagnose errors from given logs.
Ability with a variety of people with differing computing
experience.
