Data Center M&E Technician - HVAC/Steam Heating Job ID 89439 Posted 05-Oct-2022 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Data Centers, Engineering/Maintenance, Facilities Management Location(s) Boulder - Colorado - United States of America JOB SUMMARYThis role utilizes advance skills to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in a Data Center operation. Oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
Under close supervision, complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures in accordance with CBRE's Environment, Health and Safety Policy - ensuring all safety processes and PPE requirements are followed. Also, ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
Oversee third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with CBRE's developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws/regulations.
Accompany vendors on site visits on an as needed basis, and ensure site standards are met.
Help create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessment. Ensure that CERM documents and logbooks are updated.
Complete all required training in order to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.May coordinate work and assign tasks.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma/GED required, with 2-4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferred.Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols.
Strong background in either HVAC or Electrical, preferred.
Background with SLAs, preferred.
Chilled water steam heating, AHU RTU MAU experience, preferred.
Industrial and manufacturing equipment experience, preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESUniversal CFC license, preferred. Stationary Engineer license, preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGERequires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESExperience in a financial setting working with billing and payables; prior experience using a financial system; and, the ability to use Microsoft Excel.Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos. *Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Data Center M&E Technician position is $67,600 annually and the maximum salary for the Data Center M&E Technician position is $80,300 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
