With more than 60 patents, we create the technology that enables our customers to make fact-based decisions, improve process yields and comply with ever-changing regulatory requirements.The RoleThe Lean Continuous Improvement Speciali will be responsible for supporting the company in LEAN practices and continuous improvement. This position will require supporting all departments and global offices at Particle Measuring Systems. This position will act as a Business Process Engineer using data to measure effectiveness of current procedures and make suggestions for improvements.Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote continuous improvement and its activities and services to cross functional departments and its team members
  • Present, facilitate and leads assigned process improvement projects using methods of culture-appropriate team building, team energizing, data gathering and analysis, problem solving and project management
  • Seeks and evaluates process improvement and Lean Enterprise information, materials, and methods to match specific organizational needs as outlined by management, and adapts them to use in the execution of process improvement
  • Recognize cost savings projects, assist and formulate capital requests for submission to Finance
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles, theory of constraints and apply concepts of logistics to support work flow processes
  • Participates in and coordinate the development of event Charters
  • Provides event follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected benefits. Uses appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements
  • Develop reports of overall Continuous Improvement activities including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs, project cost savings, projected savings and annualized resources savings and allocations
  • Take ownership of current state vs future state design layout, formulate savings through spaghetti diagrams, reduction in waste and redundancy through CAD modeling
  • Performs tactical work related to implementing, supporting and maintaining manufacturing processes
  • Assist with data collection and analysis techniques to provide solutions to process related failures (Pareto Analysis, SPC, Six Sigma)
  • Utilize Lean Value Stream Mapping for CI purposes (identification and elimination of production and transactional wastes)
  • Fosters change management concepts
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assignedQualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
    • 5 years' experience within manufacturing, industrial engineering or manufacturing processes
    • Demonstrates oral and written communication skill to effectively interface with all levels of Company management and staff, customers and outside business contacts
    • High attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping abilities are a must
    • Ability to convey a professional, positive image of PMS, with excellent communication & organizational skills.
    • Lean certification is desiredThe Nuts and BoltsLocation - This is an "in-office" position 50-75% of the time with Covid precautions being taken. The location of this position is in Boulder, CO. The remainder of the time you may work from home. These percentages are targets with the actual schedule to be determined in conjunction with the Manager's expectations for the position. We will evaluate external equity, which is the relative marketplace job worth of jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.For new hires, we to make competitive offers between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range. This allows the new employee room for future merit increases during review cycles. There may be times when we will offer above the midpoint. The decision to do so will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.
